hey, ponyboy. if you want us to critic your work. get your self a thread. don't hijack others.
- d_rek0
Sorry, i'm not buying it.
If you're not happy with your job and you current situation in life quit fucking crying and fucking do something about it. You can either accept what is AS is or you can fucking change it.
Coming on QBN and trying to play the sympathy card is probably the last thing you should do, especially given your chosen profession.
Not only that, you've now named the agency you work for (in a comment) and posted work that we can only assume you've done while there.
So you've got two strikes against you already. The last link in this chain is for your 'manic bitch' of a boss to find this thread and bitch slap your ass out of the office.
This thread reeks of utter fail.
- geez. i'm all for tough love but seriously dude? talking shit out helps some people.airey
- C'mon. Everything here is bad practice. It's one thing to get some therapuetic advice another to openly slander the place you work for.d_rek
- work for.d_rek
- Totally unprofessional / uncalled for.d_rek
- nobody would have noticed until you pointed it out to the world. ease up on the girl, shit.scarabin
- douche.studderine
- Regardless if it's a girl or a guy this all goes a bit beyond some psychotherapy. If I found the comment so can his/her boss potentially.d_rek
- potentially.d_rek
- Just trying to inject some pragmatism into the situation.d_rek
- d_rek - are you the manic bitch? she made a mistake posting the employer, but that's all.Amicus

i hear what you're saying d_rek. the work i have shown is all freelance and i'm not ashamed to ask from advice on a topic which i cannot think clearly on. i've been tactless.

my opinion: do what is going to make worth living. you only live once, so do something about it.

i wrote a long and thoughtful post, but i've been drinking, so I deleted it.
- Maybe i should have started drinking before posting =(d_rek
- oddly enough, I started my poignant post after reading your response.... it became too much about me. but you have a point.bulletfactory
- about the drinking or about the post? LOLd_rek
- it was both.bulletfactory

The downfall of being a 'creative type' is that we tend to be highly sensitive to our feelings and surroundings. This is part of what makes us good at what we do. I'm not sure about you but when I'm feeling down it's hard to feel inspired and creative. Sometimes people don't realise the strong effect that releasing their anger has on others, they just get used to talking like this and think it's ok. For instance if you were a tradey working on a job site this type of communication is common. You would probably be walked all over otherwise. Artistic people don't seem to respond well to this form of communication and maybe your boss needs to learn this. Is it worth talking to your boss about your concerns so they know the most effective way to communicate with you to solve problems?
If this doesn't work you should line up another job and get of there. Life is to short to work with negative people, they just bring you down.
- thanks ali********
- true... sales-minded people think aloud, creative types need a certain peace of mind...vaxorcist

Ok, well, i'm not going to rescind my prior statements but I will offer up this as counterpoint. If you don't feel better after listening to it for 5 minutes i'll find your boss and bitch slap her myself.

You need to develop the second craft that anyone who is successful always learns, and that's that of acting.
Detach from the people at your job - pretend to be a normal, responsive, emotional person, but honestly, underneath it all - don't give a fuck - it's ok, they can't tell, noone can - fuck them. Tell them lies, all of it, be as fucking fake and shallow on the job as you can possibly imagine because it doesn't matter - just take the money. Taking the money means you just have to pretend, otherwise it would be a fucking club, or hobby. It's not - take the money, do the work, lie to their faces about anything else other than the work. Hell, lie about the work. Plan to get out, carry out the plan, and lie all the way out the door.
Everyone does this.
It's only when you don't, and you start treating work like it's real life that you come unstuck.
See that fuckstick from BP shrugging off that telling-off he was getting for, basically, "something that had gone wrong at work".
As much of a smarmy fuck as he is, and such a terrible thing it was - he was right to be cool and evasive and weary, then fuck off yachting at the weekend. It was work, paid, salaried work for a company that isn't is, that hired him knowing this, and paid him money to do so.
It's horrible having the soul sucked out of you at work by someone who's learned to make themselves feel better by running their little power-play scripts against you. I have some empathy for you.
But they can only take what you're willing to give. The scripts only work if you deliver your lines exactly on cue.
Don't do it.
Misunderstand, lie about misunderstanding. Do it well. Fuck them up.
Take the money and move on. You don't owe them a shred of truth if they don't respect you, and you certainly don't owe them any respect back.- thats what it comes down to... they treat me with no respect and in turn i lose respect for them... its hard to switch off and play dumb.********
- dumb, especially when she is not only bullying me, but 10 other really great people who then take it out on each other.********
- set her up.
Shouldn't be hard to do.mikotondria3

Is this 'manic bitch' the owner or just a middle management 'tard?
If it's the owner - get out quick.
If it's middle management you have the option of going over her head and putting a professional complaint about her in writing. This may or may not work, but you might also end up with the satisfaction of taking her job, her salary and making life better for everyone around you.
Another middle management option is hiding a 'wee baggy of something' in her office and alerting the superiors to the possibility of her having a habit.
- of course, being the 'self loathing' scum that I am I can think of many more imaginative ways to have her thrown out.Amicus
- haha... unfortunately, she is the owner.********
- break in to her house, hide cams in bed & bathrooms. wait a month. print stills. remove cams. wage terror campaign. loony bin. the end.Amicus

my advice is listen to your little voice...
- ********0
have an exit plan.
- airey0
my advice is if you have a 'little voice' get some professional help.
you're not actually meant to have voices in your fucking head.

How did that Pentagram quote go now again?
"Bad company is like cancer eating away your creativity. Get out - fast" or something to that effect. On the other hand you can't throw a fit every time your boss is giving you a hard time. Unless it is something very personal (design is not art - don't confuse the two) you just got to roll with it. For now.
