I am going through some mega stress at work right now and realizing I need a vacation away from everything.
If you were going to go one place to do very little and just relax, where would you go? I'm talking you'd be content just sitting in one place staring at something.

go to the forest/mountains , take a telescope

Saturan Island. There's next to nothing there, except one small vineyard.

USVI - There's really not much to do on an island in the middle of the ocean other than lounge around on the beach in beautiful weather while drinking a cold brew.

Go to an all-inclusive on the Caribbean. Your biggest stress will be, "what would I like to drink?"
My wife and I just got back from here a couple of weeks ago: http://www.grandsunsetprincess.c…

for me it was $99 a day, all meals included, they have a beach, pools, a beach, smoothies, a beach, and a beach. if you wanted to turn off and just veg, this is a good place to do it.

Good suggestions. Any US places - hiking, forests, etc? I could escape to Yellowstone or Yosemite and be just as happy as I'd be near the ocean
- haha thought you wanted to sit in one place?bigtrickagain
- I just want to be away from computers and smell some fresh air.mg33

yellowstone is a bit touristy - you have to walk on crowded boardwalks with screaming kids and busloads of tourists to see the good stuff (the pools and geysers and such). yosemite is a better bet as you can hike out away from the hoi polloi, if hiking is your thing.
someone recently posted a picture of glacier national park - that is a really really good one. totally scenic and majestic in scale, but not very crowded, and there are hundreds of miles of hiking trails... you could plan a 10-day backpacking trip through there if you wanted. i loved it when i was there.

i go into the big south fork between tennessee and kentucky every couple of months and spend 3-4 days at a time. normally take a kayak and a few days worth of food and just float and fish- stop where i like and camp. this time of year it's very green. just got back 2 weeks ago- only came across a few fly-fishermen all weekend.
- Take a kayak, lolpumpaction
- how else might you float down river?bjladams
