So, Monday I've got an interview with a shop in Amsterdam, for a senior-ish creative position. I _really_ want to get in with these cats.
Question is, what would be the best wardrobe for the occasion?
So far, I'm thinking:
- Well-pressed tailor black high-collared shit (untucked)
- Black tailored suit jacket
- Blue slim-ish boot-cut jeans
- Black Chelsea bootsRecommendations?

I don't think it matters what clothes you interview, they won't answer.

yeah, but tuck in the shirt. the untucked dress shirt is kinda old now.

Find out what the culture/attire is like in the shop and dress just slightly up from there.
- Short of asking them outright, I'm not sure how to accomplish this.Continuity
- this doesn't always work well for those (every day is casual friday) type places.SteveJobs

Wear what u usually wear, but pick out the nicer outfit that you really like. Don't try to look like someone you're not.
Come on, if they want you they have to take you as you are..
Which shop is it? I can probably pinpoint you and tell you what they're like .. Feel free to send me an email.
- Cool; expect a message soon-ish.Continuity

and remember, if your denim are washed, you most likely won't get the job.

Don't be afraid to wear Trouser and a shirt.

I'd like to see someone wear a dang suit for once.

no one will ever judge you for over dressing but they may for under dressing.
- i have had a good laugh(not in a meanway) more than once for people showing for interviews like if it was a wedding!!!valentim
- maybe you shouldn't of told them it was black tie only then.nicole_marie

Overdressing says "I really want this job" but on first glance can give the impression you're high strung or dull, or something else bad.
Underdressing says "I don't really care" or can also come across as arrogant.
Overdress, and make sure you come across verbally as approachable, friendly and interesting. By underdressing you make it hard to claw back the "I'm lazy" vibe.
If it's a senior position, definitely a suit.
Slightly more junior position - Maybe a suit, but maybe just smart shirt and trousers. If you go in wearing a suit, you can always take the jacket off. It shows you come prepared, maybe...

For an interview I'd always go with trousers rather than jeans though.

Make sure you don't overdress unless you are trying to get an accountant position. Most hip/ high paying agencies will avoid hiring a suit for a creative position.

Interesting that there are a wide range of opinions for what to wear to a creative role interview.
I think we can all agree, though, that a Bud t-shirt, jogging with print on the arse, white socks and Crocs are probably a losing proposition.
