because it's cool to hate Apple now, they are the new evil in town it seems, from underdog to evil monopolistic empire
I know some Linux heads friends who are always trashing on Apple, some years ago because "it's for designers and yuppies" now they are trashing Apple because they don't allow Flash...yeah, opensource freaks defending Flash
- they also have Android phones, so I don't understand the hatingernexbcn

Adobe Preparing to File Suit Against Apple?
- SteveJobs0
^ does adobe really have any ground to stand on here? if they and microsoft and sun teamed up, they could possibly drowned apple in litigation, but this is kinda stupid.

@emexbcn;
Is there a line that Apple could cross, where you'd be willing to consider that this company had actually done something wrong?
My bet is, no there isn't. This is part of the reason I immaturely cried 'koolaid'.
The other reason is that your earlier rebuttal doesn't actually make sense - we're not talking about other companies introducing new frameworks which would work on top of Apple's APIs.. we're talking about Apple deciding which tools developers can use to create the Objective C code they require. They are trying to be _too_ controlling. They are forcing developers to conform and are stopping them from innovating.
It's bad behaviour.
This idea is actually pretty evil, imo.
Before, I honestly didn't mind Apple. But these latest progressions, coupled with unthinking and relentless battling by 'fan-boys', has completely turned me off the brand.
Charlie Brooker says it best:

learned on a mac...switched to pc. what would you use if adobe stopped support for mac altogether?
- I'd simply go back to Windows. I love Mac OS, always have, but I'm equally fluent in Windows, and built many PCs in my day.Continuity

LOL
"I hate Macs. I have always hated Macs. I hate people who use Macs. I even hate people who don't use Macs but sometimes wish they did. Macs are glorified Fisher-Price activity centres for adults; computers for scaredy cats too nervous to learn how proper computers work; computers for people who earnestly believe in feng shui."

@lukus_W so far I haven't seen anything from them that makes me uneasy, they have all the rights to do what they are doing with their platform and their devices.
And I'm not a Mac nut job, I also love my Xbox 360, I got it from launch day and I still believe it's the best console of this generation.
And I was a heavy PC user, I started with PCs @ 1986 on an IBM PS/2 Model 50 running PC DOS 3.30 and went thru all the versions of DOS, then all the versions of Windows. I was even a MS certified professional for some time while I did system administration (Windows NT 4), but later hated that work and started doing web dev.
I have also a PC running Ubuntu at home, but my main computer is a Mac now.

"Apple made a conscious decision to move from fairly and correctly showing users that they were unable to display a certain type of content (whether you like that content / technology or not), to making it look like the site itself is broken."

7 reasons why Apple could still stumble
The company's continued success isn't guaranteed, especially if these things happen.

You only can code iphone/ipad apps on OS X.
Fuck this shit, won't buy that crap
- ukit0
Well hey guys, it's (still) a free country, go out and buy an "HP slate" or a Netbook if you feel you need a small portable machine that runs Flash.
And I'm you're that pissed at Apple in general, sell your Mac and buy a Windows machine. Because God knows Microsoft or Adobe have never taken controversial actions to protect their business interests, right? You'll be safe in their hands, yup.
- inteliboy0
ukit's got it. hacker nerds all angry for what, a company that they hate that makes products they are never going to buy? fucking bizarre shit right there.
besides only a few years ago phones were these pathetic half-assed things that didn't even have real browsers. As for tablets - tablets have been around for ages, these plastic pieces of junk that no-one cared about.
At the end of the day, actual computers, you know, that you do actual work on, are all really the fkn same and do the same shit. the end.

This whole debate about objective-c + cocoa is getting laughable. Flash AS 3 can't just press a button and import a language that was well thought out long before AS 3 showed up on the scene. This shit goes back to the early 70s when C was written and then Smalltalk was then used as a way to augment. Then enter NeXT Steve Job's old company which made the Apple OS X happen. Out of nowhere Jobs decide that Apple is the largest mobile device company in the world. And positioning the iPad as a device to leverage the iPhone OS which let's admit is successful because of the apps and the browser (which the latter hasn't been hampered because of lack of flash support). So developments from the early 70s 80s 90s in programming can't be just pushed aside when it has made the company what it is today just so Adobe can put it's shitty AS 3 program which was developed for animations on something that has 30+ year history. Fuck out of here with that bullshit! pardon my french. and the only apple product i've ever owned is an emac and a MacBook Pro...never bought an iPod, don't own an iPhone...works as a print designer using Adobe products did some work in Macromedia flash but my shitty professor said we wouldn't get into AS 2 and I bought a book, but didn't finish it, so i could work on my print work.
Anyway...phew!- port instead of "import"DeIntegro
- you never finished that book about as2, think as3 was developed for doing shitty animations, don't own an iphone, never written an iPhone app?kingsteven
- clearly have no experience of iPhone development, even processing? no? eh? COOL STORY BRO!!!!!!kingsteven
- all i'm saying is that it's their platform and they can use only their language and frameworks if they choose.DeIntegro
- and also objective-c Xcode is used to create OS X...so why should AS 3 be used to develop software on iPhone OS?DeIntegro
- Code from the 70ies is where it's at. Beats everything conceived this century.Peter

Worthy read on how Adobe isn't fucked because Google is backing them up from Business Week.

Foxconn Suicides: iPhone and iPad Factory Under Scrutiny!
The massive Foxconn factory in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen is known for assembling famous electronic goods like Apple's iPhone and iPad. But in recent months it has gained a darker image, as a place where distraught workers regularly throw themselves to their deaths.
