The Beta Band at The Roundhouse last night (02/10/25)
They were awesome and have still got the grooves.
(not my video):
- Nice, I saw them 25 years ago in a club then 20 some years ago open up for Radiohead. Last winter I saw Steve Mason play at a church with a few dozen people.fooler

I've seen them a number of times over the last 20+ years from small venues w/bands like cibo mato to massive corpo fests like coachellaPonyBoy - I've been tempted to see them in Brooklyn soon but I'm getting too tired of standing for a whole show >> Signs You're AgingCyBrainX

Autechre at Brooklyn Steel on Saturday, October 25
There aren't many photos and video online because they play in total darkness. What a great show though. Most of their music isn't as up tempo and aggressive. It was a physical experience like a car crash that lasted an hour. I mean that in a good way, of course.
- Felt like being in a digital K-hole; it was fantastic. Did you go to the 1st or 2nd show?moogchild
- 2nd show. I got in probably 10 minutes late which is pretty lame since I live just across the Williamsburg Bridge and can get there in 20 minutes on bike.CyBrainX
- That sounds coolstoplying
- saw them at the weekend, was totally relentless. not a break all night. got my self in a good spot where the bass was hitting just right.kingsteven

As I Lay Dying - Fri. Nov. 7, Innsbruck, Austria.
Powerful, loud, and well-executed. The guy changed all the musicians; I read something about he hit her wife and the dog and it went viral, and all the former musicians quit.
Drums: "The Missile" Yeung (Hate Eternal, Morbid Angel, All That Remains), Bill Hudson (NorthTale, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) on guitar, and a couple more musicians... The venue was quite small and packed. It was an absolute steamroller.
Lambesis looks like the Hulk, and still can growl as a beast.

Alec Ounsworth from Clap Your Hands Say Yeah in a 300 capacity church on a grand piano.
I can't believe it's been 20 years since his internet hyped first album came out.
I can't believe it wasn't even sold out in an era where Cameron Winter or Geese can sell out Carnegie Hall imitating him (Ha, that was harsh).
(Not of last night but a random pic of the venue)
(Not from the show I saw and not his best song but it was funny listening to him sing "Satan, Satan, Satan, Satan..." over and over inside a church.- Awesome! I saw him play in someone's house here in Austin randomly years back. Great show. Winter comparison is spot on.jbasnight
