Germany and Canada are the best two countries in the world in the World Cup circuit. For Canada, a lot of that is due to the Own the Podium program. Most Canadians don't watch the in-between games, so they don't realize what's going on for actual statistics and don't compare them to the mistakes athletes may make during the Olympics.

Don't mean to disrespect the older guys of the team, but someone in-between should be considered for the captain position next time. I know Iginla and Crosby are alternates, which is fine, but sometimes I wonder if it makes a difference if...say...Iginla is the captain rather than older, slower skaters who can't get their team fired up by their game play but only through their mouths in the locker room. And I'm a fan of most of the players (even from other countries/teams).
Just some thoughts.
Good luck to Joannie Rochette tonight, who is skating despite her mother dying of cancer just a few days ago.
