As a Calgary fan, we've seen Kipper do this before. There is no middle ground with him, he either dances on his head or craps the bed. Today, he crapped the bed.

I really hope the gold medal game (whatever team goes against the USA) isn't just Miller being hit by a barrage of goals and nothing getting by. It's much more exciting when some people can get goals and it's a closer game.

Rumblings from IOC that womens ice hockey is too unbalanced (read Canada always dominates) and it seems like they are considering reevaluating it as winter Olympic offering for the time being until it matures in other countries.
I think that is BS. When Soviet Union/Russia won most of the gold medals for decades in figure skating, they didn't remove that.

Nooooo...Canadian women lost the curling game. They had a couple of chances to win, but it just didn't work out for them today. Some uncharacteristic moves by both women.

My heart almost stopped at the end of that game! The announcer on NBC was calling the shots in the last 30 secons while everyone was clusterfucking the net and he just started to say "and it's..pausing....WIDE, barely!"– you couldn't tell from the TV if it had gone in and it looked for a sec as if the ref was about to call it even though the light didn't go off. Anyway congrats Canada, looking forward to the final on Sunday!

I am not sure we can match or beat the 26 medal from 2006. The math on whats left doesn't add up, does it?

Olympic medal count is totally irrelevant. Its ridiculous that it gets discussed so much. If countries gauge their success by medal count then just put all your funding into multiple event sports like speed skating.
- There's definitely too much emphasis on it. But I think it helps to motivate some of the athletes.juhls
