This is what you need
Hasselblad EDC (Electric Data Camera)
This is a specially designed version of the motorized 500EL intended for use on the surface of the moon, where the first lunar pictures were taken on 20 July 1969 by Neil Armstrong. The camera is equipped with a specially designed Biogon lens with a focal length of 60 mm, with a polarization filter mounted on the lens. A glass plate (Reseau-Plate), provided with reference crosses which are recorded on the film during exposure, is in contact with the film, and these crosses can be seen on all the pictures taken on the moon from 1969 to 1972. The 12 HEDC cameras used on the surface of the moon were left there. Only the film magazines were brought back.- mehmonospaced_III
- why on earth (or moon) would they not bring them back? would an extra few pounds really make that big of a difference?jkmohr
- Those will probably be gone before I make it to the moon...How much film did it hold?...looks like a huge back on it.WrappedInBooks

I would try to get something locally.
Run a roll of slide film through it to check that the shutter is firing accurately.

go crazy!

Am going to go crazy at KEH. thx.

KEH yea, can't beat that, and their ratings are spot on.

KEH if you're in the US, ebay can be okay, if someones rating is 100% after hundreds of transactions you should be able to trust them. I bought several cameras from ebay and only once did I have a slight problem (the back on a hasselblad was a bit old an dry, which after a while caused a light leak...)
where to buy one is not really the problem, it's what you want. to start of with a cheap 6x6, (I shot with a mamiya 635 for years and it worked fine) a premium 6x6 (newer hasselblad or rollei), a 6x4,5 (fuji or mamiya) or perhaps a 6x7 (mamiya 7, RB or R, or a pentax) ......

i dunno... i have a rebel xti and a 5dmk2 and yet I want to shoot with film. there is something about the character of the images and the process that you immerse yourself in in order to take the photo where as digital u feel more like a techie...

I got the mamiya 645 deal...Its nice, manual and oh so heavy for trips to south asia...takes some good film though...costy eh

settled on an rz67 outfit from keh.

update, this rz67 is sick! I have kodak PORTRA 160NC film and am ready to snap a few shots this weekend. Then I can start sharing via the medium format thread. FINALLY...
- ok_not_ok0
Before you know it you'll be processing your own B&W film...tee hee.
- bigtrick0
how much you lay down for that rz67? what kinda lens do you have? 120 back?
- sherm0
All in all, I spent about $440 for a "BGN" rated system from keh.com. Someone said the "BGN" systems are just fine, and really at this point it makes no difference to me since they are built like tanks.
I have the body, 120 back, 100mm f2.8 lens and waist level finder so far besides all my other camera gear.
Since I decided to buy one, and subsequently receiving it...I think of it daily. its not natural

100 2.8... nice piece of kit!
also, when you are not using your rz67 for taking photos, it makes a handy self-defense weapon. 5-pound metal brick...
