Back in the days, these movies scared the piss out of me... I used to pretend I was asleep or cover my head with a pillow not to watch if at a friends house.. Now I'm all grown up and only slightly piss my pants, but damn it, Freddy looks weird and Michael Bay is involved... I miss the old Robert Englund look... Classic face and voice... The last scene in the trailer has me worried... Just not right.

Yeah I wasn't crazy about how freddy looked in the face... i'd rather him be more faithful to the original but... I dunno, the trailer piqued my interest - mostly in a nostalgic way.

I'm in favor of remakes... when they are good. I haven't really seen that yet. Friday the 13th was ok... Halloween, despite I love RobZ, wasn't that good,
I'm worried this will fall into the same trap....and being produced by Michael Bay doesn't help that feeling. I want someone who really knows and loves horror films to redo these.

i think this freddy looks scarier. the other one looked like a cartoon.

The first Nightmare did have issues. Freddy was pretty lame in the real world. When the sledge hammer hit him in the stomach... it was like a three stooges bit :P
...and running around like a fool. Hopefully this will solve that.

Damn... I'm recording music right now but just watched this with my recording headphones on. I'm not kidding, that was fucking scary and gave me some serious chills. It was probably the bass and all in the headphones, but man, that looked awesome. I was actually scared to look around my apartment for a second because it's kind of dark in here!

his face reminded me of Darkman's face... which was a knock-off freddy face...

new drinking game: take a drink for every flame, spark, fireball, explosion or other combustion in that movie.
it'll be more about fire than freddy, i really think michael bay is half moth and sexually attracted to flame.

I agree, the tone, the lighting and direction, the sound effects all look and sound great, except from what I can briefly tell, the two most important ones - his face and voice (perhaps they are going for more of a "realistic burn" - no nose, etc - agree on darkman rip). Hollywood already screwed me on my childhood toys - TransFormers and G.I. Joe... Don't take away my childhood fears. Freddy however, would be great for this generation CGI and dream sequences could be insane... Still want to see. My girlfriend won't even watch the trailer she is so scared of Freddy, sigh.

So if the whole thing to avoid Freddy is to never fall asleep...why don't they just load up on a bunch of meth and go wild?
- because michael bay needs explosions not a meth party.prophet0NE
- ...but if you were to combine the two...hmmm...prophet0NE

that actor has been typecast as a paedo.
thats gotta suck.- Earle Haley is great and I think he should make better films than this.Ruffian
