Nice camera, but call med when it gets continous auto focus and drops the jelly effect on movies...
- get a fast lens and hold the button :Perikjonsson

1.6 crop.
Doh. Otherwise might have had something.

waiting for high ISO performance results...
it might make a nice shooting pair with a 5D mark I for shooting events and weddings...- As opposed to two 5D's?imadesigner
- the higher frame rate and 1.6 crop are useful for telephoto grab shotsvaxorcist

if you check out the 800iso sample photo, shadow noise doesn't seem to be a patch on the 5d mkii.
doesn't seem worth the extra $ over the other crop-body canons to me.

I picked up a 5D MK1 off ebay the other day for £900. You can't beat full-frame.

8 fps and 1.6x crop. It's every Canon-using sport photographer's next purchase.

Canon 7D looks promising. The 19 point AF is the true gem of this machine, in addition to the 8fps. The 1.6 FOV crop is not really a bad thing, full frame is beautiful because your truly harness all of the lens you are shooting with, but does not mean you can not achieve the same with a FOV. As true photographers will tell you, it's the camera in your hands and the person behind it. You would be surprised by what some people shot with Rebels and blow away people who shoot with 5D's etc.
Truth.

8 fps good. Not full frame bad. price too high. meh. T1i was a bigger jump and a better value even if its a rebel.

Not sure why everyone keeps mentioning the 1.6 crop factor since they make L series lenses for these cameras.....

It's meant to be a direct competitor to the D300s (also a crop body) so the smaller sensor makes a lot of sense. This used to be a bit of a gap in the Canon line-up. Also, If it was full frame it would make the 5dmkII irrelevant.
- sikma0
I stand corrected. They don't make L series specifically for the APS sensors. Not sure what I was thinking.

im glad i went with the ti4.
- not sure what 8fps would do over 6.5 for meerikjonsson
- err t1i not ti4erikjonsson
