@freedom and whoever is need of a replacement.
http://www.sciplus.com/I use american science and surplus; although their site could use some work, they do have a large collection of general science and electronic parts/bundles/ and hard to find items. They have a store in Chicago (5316 N. Milwaukee Ave) that i used to frequent often when i lived there but now use their shipping. reliable and they offer over night. also their prices are reasonable... depending ..

radio shack was one of the last places where you could buy transistors, resistors and anything else electrical/circuit based. admittedly the selection dwindle throughout the years but you always had the 25 to 50 draws and could count on it in any city you traveled to. tons of tiny bits to fix that charger/ hackbox or any receiver setup, really.. This will be a loss to many enthusiasts
- enthusiasts? to many who are still stuck in 1979 tech.. oi Radio Shack cool back in those days.. but now?e-pill
- enthusiasts, people that make stuff with a soldering iron are losing a store front.i guess order online now.plash
- Amazon?freedom

I went in to a "The Shack" a while back and the clerk was soooo stupid I had to walk out. I was trying to find some LEDs and he had no idea what I was talking about. Then when looking for a power supply he proceeded to "test" several phone chargers and AC plugs on the LED by placing, with BARE hands, the leads onto the live plugs (no resistors either). I couldn't believe this guy. Luckily he didn't fry himself.
My theory is the guys that work at "The Shack" and the guys that work at "U-Haul" are related. Both sets are geniuses.

they can shorten it a bit more by loosing the ‘s’ as well.

Maybe they should put that $200M toward getting some knowledgable staff, and not selling garbage... just a thought.

I mean "The Shack" sounds like a burger joint that bad child tv actors hang out at...
But then again, I never shop at Radio Shack anyway because their sales help is generally clueless and rude and they have enormous stocks of badly made cheap indonesian electronics. I just called it "Radio Suck"..now I guess it'll just be "The Suck".
- This pretty mush sums up all the worthwhile points on the matter.marychain
