Uber stripped of London license, plans to appeal
- still trading though, has 30 days, issues easily resolvable. will carry on as normal.fadein11

any thoughts about uber going for a new identity. again.
- Getting rid of the U was an odd decision. They owned that letter in the pubic sphere -- such massive equity to dispense withGnash

- Better than the last, way worse than the second to last. So yeah, still a fail.chukkaphob

- nope :)chukkaphob
- Oh I really like it. Great work. I agree with Gnash though, the U should be the main mark. I like the new U. It should be prominent...set
- it's not often that company owns a letter of the alphabetGnash
- Agree. The last version was awful but sort of started growing on me, this one is worse so generic. Bring back the u_niko

I like it.
Looking forward to next years rebrand!
- at least this time there seems to be real thought behind it, and it does seem "generic" enough to convince the market they are the go-to ride servicemonospaced
- it's übergeneric! lolchukkaphob

The hideous logo/ icon is gone, that's good. Not liking the typo-only logo as app icon though but still better than before.

I worked on the brand team there during the last rebrand initiative but quit after two months because the company was a fucking shitshow (I didn't work on the rebrand at the time). Would turn up at 8:00am hoping to go home at a reasonable time, then my manager would schedule meetings at 6:30pm for an hour or more. Everything was an emergency and there was a very uncomfortable "bro" atmosphere about the place.
Fun factoid: the CEO actually married my wife and I and seemed like such a nice guy. But when I worked on the Uber brand team he acted like he'd never fucking met or even seen me before in my life.
- I read, "the CEO actually married my wife and seemed like a nice guy"Chimp
- Like he was a minister or an old sea captain or something?_niko
- He was the officiant. I think he was roped into it by the promotions team. He was super nervous, to the point it was kinda sweet.5timuli
- We basically "won" our wedding and honeymoon from Uber and he showed up to lead it. Within a couple of months I was working there (unrelated).5timuli
- lol read that too. The CEO married my wifedbloc
- You're such a nice guy to let another man marry your wife.ArmandoEstrada
