my question is:
how does the amount of styles in your CSS affect overall SEO?
i designed a site which had 24 total styles, the SEO specialist i was working with said that 24 was unacceptable.
he said it would be best if we had under 10 styles. is there a valid reason for this?- loldMullins
- No, he doesn't know what he's talking about.Reaact
- sounds like something my boss would say.tredesigns

google says they punish you for doing tricky things like making text white on white background via css, to load it with keywords or whatever, so they must be parsing css to some degree? i use text indent to hide text for image replacement, i wonder if i'm being penalized for that?
- nope, if you think this is the case then use javascript to document.write the link to the css filetrooperbill
- so what is the answer? "No" or "if You think?"fusionpixel
- trooperbill0
ive never heard of google AUTOMATICALLY penalizing anyone for whte text etc, this probably gets caught with manual spam report submission.
- and ive been at this for 10 years over 1000's of sites! BTW Dont do white text thing as you will get reportedtrooperbill

What's a ballpark $$ range for a basic SEO campaign?
- depends on who you contract. In my experience it ranges from £50 to £5000 per monthtrooperbill

Wondering the same thing-- What's a ballpark $$ range for a basic SEO campaign? Say, an online store that has launched, but needs traffic via google.
- a basic seo campaign is going nowhere on an ecommerce site as it'd be really competitive at a guess.trooperbill

Start with PPC it will give you some hard stats that make organic SEO easier. i'd also suggest that you do this with a really basic storefront like prestashop's basic template and then after this trial, use the analytics data to construct a custom shop with some great structure and resource based content.
- oh and expect to burn money on this trial using single terms in your adwords campaigntrooperbill
- lol... nah i dont really :) i started out as one of them lol... but you learn and thats the point of this post, to educatetrooperbill
