You mentioned supplements. For a while I was taking both Tonalin CLA, and L-Carnatine, regularly whether I was working out on a good schedule or not. I won't go into what they do and you can look them up if you're unfamiliar with them. But when I had a physical last year, my doctor noticed that my liver function levels were slightly elevated, and she had me not drink for a week before getting another blood test. I did some research too, and found that Tonalin CLA could have a negative effect on your liver, so I stopped taking that before the blood test for about three weeks, and liver levels were all back to normal.
I was then just taking L-Carnatine, until a segment on TV I saw where they were talking about Carnatine having a greater impact on heart issues than the fat and cholesterol in red meat. I stopped taking that pretty soon after, and I've been hoping to find some research or details that specify whether the supplement is bad or not, or if it's just bad when it comes from red meat. I just looked this up and need to do some reading: http://uschinahpa.org/2013/04/l-….
I later learned of Rasberry Ketone supplements, and have been taking those pretty regularly every since, with each meal. http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/m…

thanks. only saw this now. i have actually not used any supplements yet, but did change my diet significantly, and more importantly, stuck with it.
my diet is a lot more balanced. i eat more regularly and my appetite has improved dramatically. i haven't had any alcohol in about a month. didn't drink coffee for a month either, just green tea in the mornings.
ulcer's pretty much gone and i feel better than i have in years. also gained just about all the weight i wanted to (i'm at 63.5 kg now). could bulk up more but i'm not in a hurry. want it to be controlled... regular exercise: basics i can do at home (situps, pushups, etc.) some free weights and cycle 30-60 min 5 days a week.

If I didn't have a pulled quadriceps muscle in my right leg, here's my weight lifting routine:
Monday:
Squats
Incline Bench
Barbell Rows
Close grip bench
Pull ups until I can't do anymoreWeds:
Light Squats
Deadlifts
Military Press
Calf Raises
Shrugs
Pull ups until I can't do anymoreFri:
Squats
Incline Bench
Barbell Rows
Close grip bench
Pull ups until I can't do anymoreIt's essentially the "Starting Strength" routine, slightly modified. A full body routine that can really kick your ass and focuses on big compound exercises. I could probably ditch the calf raises and shrugs, but I leave them in. It's pretty amazing how strong I've got since I started.
As far as nutrition, I try and avoid anything processed with loads of ingredients. I eat a lot of quinoa, black beans, avocados, peanut butter (natural), almond butter, eggs, and fish. Occasionally red meat; rarely chicken. I hate the taste of chicken more and more.
Never soda or anything sugary to drink. Water, black coffee, and beer or wine on the weekends. I need to do cardio, but it's so fucking boring in the Winter. Plan on getting a cheap bike to ride this Summer. There's a 40 mile trail real close to me I can ride on.

Monday+Tuesday-Boxing, Thursday-Escrima/Kali, Friday sometimes Saturday-Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. All fun, all practical, all without lifting weights.
