Enfield Bullet! I rode one when I lived in India in 99, delightful, retro and midlife crisis all at once. They're still made in India, almost exactly as they were in UK in the 50's, but with modern engine upgrades, so they start reliably.... more fun than a sportster, and no dentist-with-a-harley bullshit rep either...

I like retro... but not that retro.
I learnt on an MZ so I feel I've paid my dues already.

- I hope she lets me ride it.

*replace = replacementblaw - Is she the same height as you? I always wondered how it would work for shorter people. Is there a difference?juhls
- She's 5'4". This bike sits lower than mine. Easier to ride a shorter bike than one "too tall".blaw
- I can ride her current bike without issue. But it would be too cramped for me to go a couple hundred miles on comfortably.blaw
- ...comfortably.blaw
- nice, a woman who rides....morilla
- I see. Interesting. I'm not sure I would ever buy one, but I dig people who ride bikes :)juhls
- She rode with me for a while, then decided (correctly) that it's more fun up front.blaw
- Like the look of that a lot.JerseyRaindog
- I hope she lets me ride it.

-JerseyRaindog : consider the kind of road you have, this will greatly influence the kind of bike you will enjoy or not.
- Small country lanes - not much clear road. 40mph island wide speed limit. That kind of thing...JerseyRaindog
- lot of corners, or straight lines?dyspl

Some nice bikes in here. I'm looking at the Harley tonight (it's a 99 model with fsh). Even the insurance is going to be light. The gods seem to be in my favour.

You guys can't mod bikes in Europe? What are the rules?
- dyspl0
Each country has its own law concerning bikes mods.
France is quite restrictive, and there's no way you can ride a bike with a different frame than the one originaly made for the bike.
and we are limited to 100cv (horsepower?).

Why do they call it a mid-life crisis at 50?
anybody planning on being 100?
honestly...we should all be having midlife crisis at 35 or so
...as depressing as that is

I'm 39. Think that's about perfect don't you?

Midlife crisis complete. I bought the Sportster.

i've rode many bikes in my time, but mostly off road, including the recent time in thailand where i took the girl and i on sandy roads and ended up in the ditch because of another truck.
always been weary of taking a bike on roads though. how do you guys see the difference between offroad/onroad biking? my main concern is the highspeed and (dumbass)traffic.

I want a motorcycle but scared to shit I'll kill myself. I'm a few months from my 30 year crisis. That should be interesting.
also, I have 2 pair of moccasins and I'm 29. People tell me they look like grampa shoes, but they are damn comfortable and sweet, so fuck em!
