Wonderfile
http://www.wonderfile.com/I prefer it to dropbox, you can tag files, then share the tag so individual files OR groups of files can be shared. You can also assign password and expiration dates to the share.
Since its tag based you can also easily find your files, they are pre-viewable and indexed by content and filename.

can someone explain to me...why would i want to put all my personal and private stuff on a server owned by a company who'll end up having access to all my items?
- because you trust them enough?ribit

why not just buy your own nas and have both a server at home/work on your network, while also acting as an online transfer/repository for clients/family/friends?
ive got a Synology D207+ with 2TB of space and the thing is rock solid.
i think it cost around $300US to set the whole thing up.
I like dropbox, but in the end, the cost benefit doesn't really stack up to the DIY method.

thats a great suggestion northeleven, I think I am going to do exactly that, actually. I'll just keep using my skydrive, docs and free dropbox until then :P - a NAS setup is the most responsible for the money
- And you know, the best thing is that there is no question concerning who has their hands on your stuff.northeleven

dropbox and google docs now too. Google storage is v cheap and DB is 10GB free after referrals.
