how can i make money out of twitter?
- 5timuli0
Twitter seems to be perfect for me, in a way that MySpace and Facebook never were. So much more easy to maintain. 90% of the time I post crap but now and again I use it for good.
I follow lots of graphic and type designers/foundries (HF&J, Spiekermann, Fontshop, Typographica, Fountain, Process, etc.) so I get a ton of great information that you just don't seem to get on QBN anymore. Plus Michael Ian Black's postings are funny as fvck.

I agree with people that say Twitter has replaced email for social purposes. By limiting your character input you tend to summarize and don't ramble on pointlessly. In fact, email has taken a back seat where I work. Between Twitter, the company blog and Basecamp, there's really not much need to use it.

OMG, I love twitter. My life (ney, my very DNA) is so important that everyone needs to know what I'm am doing every minute of everyday, and from that information, they then need to shape their own experience and perspective around my existence. For example, if I'm in getting coffee at an overprice sh*thole (http://www.thetrailslosfeliz.co... like at this pretentious outhouse, other people see my twit, and than think, oh yeah I need coffee too, because fred mcCoolster is getting a coffee. I have other examples you can view on my blog. Kissess

my 2 cents...
I don't twitter. I more or less just follow. I follow a lot of useful design related blogs and resources. Instead of having to visit their respective sites it's nice to have one place for everything. I follow my favorite internet streams playlist. Like a song? favorite it and I can go back later and look it up.
I don't follow any of my friends (most of them use facebook or myspace) and wouldn't care for their updates anyway. BUT compared to myspace or facebook you can actually follow interesting people. For example, Lance Armstrong posted "Just went for a ride. On the road. If one of you 484, 272 tells my doc then I'm in trouble. Keep it between us please." a few days after collarbone surgery.
Follow interesting people and get some foot time in someone else's shoes.
