Been ignoring it, computer crashed, about to do a system reinstall.
What do you think about CS4? Blow CS3 out of the water or should I just stay there?

I, for one, stayed with cs3

I havent really got enough spare cash to upgrade yet. Probably will though just as CS5 is released.

Testing the 30 day trial version. Not that many new features but it does feel fast and optimized. I'm running it in laptop with Windows7. It has a 1.4 Ghz Intel Celeron and a 1.5gb of RAM. For that kind of setup, it runs pretty decent.

I upgraded, I don't know why, but I did.

I'm trying Flash CS4 now, but I'm new to Flash so it all seems good with easier tweens etc.
I'm interested in trying out the Connection feature, sharing the screen with remote clients via the web. I saw a demo at a seminar last week and it seems pretty awesome.
- Connection feature? In Flash? Tell me more.fyoucher1
- It's called Adobe ConnectNow, it's web conferencing straight out of CS4. Click 'Share my Screen' in the Flash menu on the MacBrainiac

- Ha. That's sweet.fyoucher1
- Oh, and Adobe have live eSeminars that you can register for online, they use a similar feature to broadcast.Brainiac

Still haven't got my moneys worth out of CS3 Master Collection yet.

^ Yeah I just dont get that full feeling out of CS3. So much I didnt mess around with yet. Hours of Lynda.com to teach all that stuff.

I have CS4... but only because I'm a greedy bastard, that is somehow convinced that I MUST have the latest version of everything. Truth be told, I can't think of a thing I do different now, than... I don't know... 5-6 versions ago. And on top of that, I don't know how to use half of the capabilities of any Adobe application.

we're all on cs4. no complaints yet.

I just switched from CS2 to CS3. Won't be doing CS4 for at least a year or two.
I think a lot of times upgrading software is more trouble than it's worth. I rarely take advantage of the new features.

Downgrading is a hassle, I've heard. And I CS3 is used on most of the machines I use.

PS is much much faster now... loving the 64bit action too but most of my plugins don't work so I have to keep an old copy around. It's got tons of little features/behaviours that are worth upgrading for.
AE is working well, no crashes or plugin problems. Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver is all good.
The new Acrobat Pro features are freakin' awesome, you can make PDFs portfolios that are like Keynote presentations, I also found that managing/producing interactive PDFs is easier.

There are a lot of new features in Flash that are actually for animation and graphics. New tweens, new 3D and no overhaul of the language. Thank God!!
Most of the other apps seem to be streamlined, but not too many great improvements.
In Photoshop, you can link smart objects to masks and free transform smart objects. That's one thing, but it's huge.
- PS's GPU acceleration makes a big difference in my world.zarkonite

It's nice, I like it. Had to fiddle with the InDesign workspace a bit though, just to get it where I could access all the usual controls.

Ive noticed some glitches in photoshop, dodge/burn seem glitchy and sometimes my control Z doesnt work and sometimes my ctrl t ends up duplicating layers. To fix glitches a photoshop restart is needed. Faster. Still getting a feel of the new features. Glitches might be my copy. Also have cs3 installed. Running a tweaked 32bit xp. Other apps I just briefly looked at the interfaces and havent used enough for a review.
