"I'm a graphic designer, not really a web designer, so my concerns differ a bit..."
So, the comparison would be - would you sub out the graphic work to somebody whose knowledge of graphic design techniques ended in 1990 and they did layouts by hand and without a computer?
- They still might make beautiful layouts you know. But it'd put a monkey wrench in your production schedule.TheBlueOne
- fair enough. its all technical to me

so.
just curious..
is there a way to build a CSS site on dreamweaver?
anyone has a good tutorial in mind? I'm not interested if its straight up code, I want something I can manipulate with a mouse or see visually.can this be done?
- Yes.TheBlueOne
- of course. css in dreamweaver can be implemented either manually or using presets.airey

Yes, but in the spirit of a younger brother who knows everything.. allow me to push some more of your buttons for the sake of comedy. (making fun of you at your expense)
You know.. Meeklo.. there is something to say about how defensive you're getting.. I mean.. you don't see CSS people getting all upset when someone says to use tables..
no you get a snobby, superior, and self-righteous
"ewww, never again"So be one of Us, the better people, and use CSS.
- So CSS people and Mac people fit together perfectly :)ETM

I'm actually enjoying combining old techniques with new ones, to be honest. from stop motion to paper/ scissors photo based layouts, its not uncommon to see it, and are usually the works that stand out the most, they are more time consuming yes. but sometimes the end result is worth it no?
to answer your question, I would probably not sub design work for as long as I can do it myself, that is what I like to do, I rather pay a CSS guy to code my design though :)
- old techniques and outdated techniques are not the same.zarkonite

well, I'm willing to learn as long as I can do it visually on dream weaver. of course it will always be easier to pay someone else to do it, but I don't mind giving it a chance.
- You can do it!TheBlueOne
- help me blue, where do I start?
I will aim to build my next project only in CSS how about that?Meeklo - drop me an email and we'll discussTheBlueOne

low polygon models.. 8-bit sounds and graphics.. are all old techniques that are used today for nostalgic effect.
But.. I don't think this applies..
You don't hear architects saying "Man.. I'm going to build a building with asbestos insulation because that's the way they used to do it in the old days"
or a trucker saying.. "Lets do this wagon caravan styleeee"
I was on here the other day and someone posted an animated gif of a video.. and I was like WTF is THIS!?!!? 1997?
Whats next.. an "under construction" section of the website with an gif of a guy digging and a little "construction ahead" sign?
Where do we draw the line here?!? Growing oversized brows and dressing in hides, walking around with our knuckles on the ground caring around a blunt wooden clubs with which to pulverize our meat?
- you draw the line anywhere you want.Meeklo
- but only if you use CSS.winnie_the_shit

obviously for html emails you have to use tables. thanks microsoft for the word rendering engine.

- god..this seems so clunky compared to just hand coding it...TheBIueOne
- yup, in the end you end up putting in your own values = you learn the code , DW writes it , you read itBattleAxe

Meeklo: word of advice—refrain from your original comments on public forums like this (where you will encounter many true professionals in this realm).
Don't reply, save your breath: just learn the methods—you'll look back and realize we were right.
