The design of the robots looks fucking rubbish, just arbitrary piles of gears bouncing about the place. If you have seen an actually good giant robot movie then this is just fucking trash.

I liked, its very true to the cartoons because 'the human' aspect in the bots was also very clear. accents, beards, human traits...
And the story, well its movie about transforming robots, what did you expect, Harvey effin Milk?- how was megan?********

as a robot designer this one wasnt inspiring....
too much of the same...
too much military...
i can care less for any military anything...
too much screen time in middle east...
i wonder is mike bay trying to kiss ass too much with american military....meh at the military, was crap to the film didnt add anything...
im not one to care for the us military so to me this movie was just for them instead of the fans...im on the fence on this leaning towards i hated it more than i really liked it... i saw it in IMAX and wasnt too caring that i payed $19bucks for that... almost 3 hours!!! like 1 hour easily could have been shaved off...
that whole megan fox crap made me horny!!!! ugh!!! we need more fox less twins robots?? i mean what were they broken kids from the projects??? fucking a mike bay!!!!

Yeah, but that is no excuse for endless and ridiculous plot holes you could drive a semi-truck through (autobot or not). Plot holes that could at least have been reduced in size without compromising much had the director cared more about the story basics and less about rock music and gratuitous scenes involving pointless US military.

I actually liked the first one, but I was surprised at how bad this movie was. 2 jive talking robots, one with a gold tooth? The main bad guy actually walks with a cane? Come on...

anybody noticed how michael bay uses car chase scenes as a transition? normally a director just cuts or uses the screen wipe. he creates a car chase scene that takes you one continent to another.

The problem with big budget movies is that, even with a good script, by the time the execs get through with it, its rubbish. These are marketing machines, screw the story. As long as the tie-ins work, McD's can have happy meals, Toys 'R Us has products to sell and shit gets blown up, they're happy.
Look at RoboCop 3. Penned by Frank Miller. Total rubbish. He said the film was NOTHING like his script once the studio did their thing. It was hard to convince him to allow Sin City to be made years later after that experience. He hated the film industry.
