If I may, try not to completely quit something you seem so fond of. I mean we're talking about coffee, not underground poker tournaments. The human psyche buckles under the pressure of such restrictive prohibitions.

good work, mg33! with your last thread i didn't think you had it in you. i only have tea now with the occasional coffee and love it! we've both saved ourselves future aches and pains (horrible on the sinews)

Today will be my last cup of coffee. Wish teas would be best in order to make the switch?

I detoxed from caffeine last week... the second day in is always the hardest with the headaches and nausea. After that it's fine... the hardest part now is just breaking the habit. Of course i have to work in a place where everyone guzzles the shit from the minute they get in until the minute they leave... and it smells so fucking good. Damnit!
- nausea? you guys strirring opium into your coffee?Point5

Yeah, my second day headache was mixed with a NYE hangover.

You inspired me. I went to a pharmacy, got some multivitamin.
Goes pretty well with a latte, must say.

there is a Japanese green tea called Matcha that is excellent for you and has a slower but surer energy release. Eden food is the co. that supplies it. otherwise I drink Yorkshire gold cus I'm a Yorkshire lass, right?

Like booze and junk food, caffeine should be taken in moderation. I cut it out completely a while back and am now happy with an occasional tea or small cup of coffee. Getting on a regular sleep schedule (8+ hrs/night) is better for you.

A moderate use of caffeine doesn't interfere with my sleep. Does it to you?

I've always felt better off caffeine... problem is I'm so busy these days I'm just not getting much sleep, and a multi-vitamin does not help my energy levels without sufficient sleep.

tea is pointless =) and giving up cofee in favour of several "vitamin" drinks a day sounds like something out of american tv culture. if you live straight and dont cook or eat like a total moron you dont need added vitamins. especially not something that sounds like 10times a daily recommended intake =)

Been off the stuff for over a year now. When I am tired, I slam about 500 ml of water and I'm good to go just minutes later. Weird.

I go through phases of coffee and tea. When I drink coffee too frequently and for long enough, it just seems to lose its magic. After a short spell of tea, the yay-hurayness of coffee comes right back.

I gave up the coffee routine round about 6 months ago and started drinking more water and tea. I haven't found it to be a huge difference but I do feel a bit more relaxed and less moody. I used to crash pretty hard in the afternoons but now I find I'm a bit more stable throughout the day. I still have the occasional coffee beverage every now and then, usually after a good meal out with friends. I find it a lot more enjoyable in moderation.
