Some very high up defense experts and even a few former politicians here said this is useless military action. Even if Israel blows up the tunnel, the Hamas fighters will still find new ways for importing and creating explosive materials & rockets.
- janne760
what did dissapoint me though, is the rather 'lax attituted from key figures toward Israel's actions. Tony Blair is even close to agreeing with Israel's killings. And the Dutch PM didn't seem very much up to criticizing either.
WHAT THE HELL IS IT WITH ISRAEL?
Do they really believe their lives are more important than the lives of others?
IT WELL SEEMS SO!
fucking selfish israeli jews.

They are the chosen people...

Its never been about the tunnels or even security, its about Zionism and the expansion of Israel. Palestinians are no match for Israel's strong military (funded and supplied by the US).
Zionism: is the return of (Zionist) Jews to the land of Israel, the so-called 'promised land'. The promised land goes from the Nile (Egypt) to the Eupharates (Iraq). The two blue lines on the Israeli flag represent the rivers. Remember they took Sinai (Egypt) before, as it is part of the Zionist expansion.
For Zionist Israelis they wont stop till they accomplish this goal. They will take their time, but they will achieve it.
None of this is made up, Zionists will openly admit this.

Ok, i've been following this thread since it started & ghosting, but i HAVE to say...
janne, you seem to have lots to say about how Jews are this & Jews are that. Are you Jewish by any chance? or did you recently receive a degree in middle-east history & affairs? You are putting lots of words down in this thread, but all I can read is... "I'm in need of attention & I'm going to jump on this ISRAEL IS THE MONSTER bandwagon & educate everyone about how i think we should abolish the term antisemitism & look like a totally cool liberal doing it."
And while having an educated discourse about world affairs is obviously too much to ask on a board full of such brilliant scholars such as you, janne, i feel like you (janne) have been unbearably derogatory towards the Jewish people, and all in an effort to either somehow portray yourself as someone who cares deeply about human rights or tyranny, has painted yourself as an antisemitic bigot and, at best, uneducated.
I'm willing to bet you're also one of those people who thinks that the term "racist" should also be abolished in America. I'm sure you believe that African-American are also just hidding behind "Racism" so they can milk the government for Wellfare money.

sry for that rant, just had to get that off my chest guys :)
just to clarify, that wasn't a statement on the Gaza war. i wasnt picking saides. just a statement of the constant comments by janne on the Jewish peoplez as a whole. Lots of stupid & personally offensive sht.

"We came to the school when the Israelis warned us to leave," he said. "We hoped it would be safe. We were 20 in one room. We had no electricity, no blankets, no food.
"Suddenly we heard a bomb that shook the school. Windows smashed. Children started to scream. A relative came and told me one of my sons was killed. I found my son's body with his two cousins. They were cut into pieces by the shell."
- probably good that all 3 died though. Better that than one survives to join hammaskelpie

kelpie is this true they went somewhere that israel said would be unsafe?!!!!!

- you really think israeli army deliberatly bombs a school to kill children?Danglin_Dave
- They don't give a fuck who they kill, as long as its Palestinian.Khurram
- kelpie0
"you really think israeli army deliberatly bombs a school to kill children?"
you have a serious problem with twisting what people say to paint them as some kind of raving lunatic fringe. You're suffering from massive confirmation bias - you only hear what you want about the conflict and are filtering out what doesn't fit. I don't care if they 'deliberately' bombed the school to kill kids (ffs!), they still bombed it, they still killed all those people, in return for one alleged mortar attack. Do you really sleep easy justifying that ratio as understandable collateral damage?

and in response to earlier cries of "but what about Congo???" etc; I am personally more concerned with what Isreal does because they assume the position of progressive democratic state, indeed a shining example of this in the region, and receive our governments support and money and so as a 'fellow' progressive democrat, I feel obligated to call them on their tactics.
- toe_knee0
Bombing a school is wrong. There's no justifying it.

I think its the "closeness" of Israel that makes what happens there more important than the Congo.
The Congo is a failed state, it's not part of the international system of nations. The various factions fighting there are not aided and abetted by any Security Council country. The West has "no involvement" and "no interest" there. Washed its hands of a far flung land.
Israel, on the other hand, is part of the international system of nations. It is the closest ally of Europe and the US outside the Atlantic. It enjoys exceptional relations with both Europe and the US. It was founded and continues to be bankrolled by the two entities. We are its biggest trading partner. The regime has received and continues to receive unfettered support from us. It is the recipient of the biggest cash and arms aid in the world. It's our "pet project".
It is part of who we are, and where we stand.
- Khurram0
It's like apartheid South Africa saying, "why pick on us when millions are being killed off in other parts of the world?"

Death count: Israel: 11 (inc 7 soldiers), Palestine: 600.
Yup. Looks pretty fair and measured to me. Don't know what the fuss is about.
- says it all********
- you're idiots. of course you're going to have more palestinian casualties.... the terrorists are hiding within the palestinian people.dconstrukt
- says it all
- Danglin_Dave0
I never understood the concept of a fair deathcount. Every death is one too much.
- ********0
It's war Dave. I happen to think that death is a perfect measure of success.
