Instant feedback, instant crap.

I played with it a bit but I don't really see the point, It is one of those things that has to hit critical mass before it is useful.

I don't get it either, but I guess if people are interested in blogs...
Twittering can be useful for specific things. Like if a disaster is occurring, and you need short updates about what is going on.

I am following CNN for news briefs.
I kinda like seeing what my local friends are doing.

dumbest shit ever.
i've said it once, and i'll say it again: no one gives a shit what you are doing at every second of every day. no one gives a shit about what i am doing every second of every day.only fucking kanye west cares what he is doing every second of the day. he probably twitters, and then goes to his twitter page so he can read what he just wrote!
- sorry about that tangent.
i'm a passionate guy :Dlvl_13 - Some people have funny observations and it's worth reading :) I'm still not really into it though.Jaline
- why don't you get a twitter account so you can vent all the time https://twitter.com/…eryx

I find it interesting from an API standpoint and working it with other applications to be honest.
It's like an away message for the internet, haha.
- take that back!
there is nothing interesting about it!

With the Twinkle iPhone app, it can be interesting to see what others in the Ottawa area are up to. I know certain people who think it's a good thing to Twitter about when they are watching a film or going somewhere, specifically so their friends or others can join them. This allows for stalkers, among other things, but I guess everyone needs to be connected.

I am sure some important applications will evolve from this technology, but knowing what Kanye West is doing is not one of them.

there is a lot of insightful content being missed by an application like Twitter, in this thread. too bad...

I like to think I invented the away message on AIM.
Before me, everyone was just simply, "I am away from my computer right now."
Then one day, I wrote the immortal words, "Jerry Likey. Jerry Want Wingie!" This let people in the know, who knew it was Tuesday, that I was at all you can eat wings at Quaker Steak (and also that I liked the movie Tommy Boy).
Upon returning to the literal tens of IMs that nite, I realized I had changed the interwebz forever. Almost (if not) a decade later... I still put up away messages despite the now literal three's of people I talk to on it.
Weird part is that I'd meet people at parties and they be like, "Holy shit, you're Jerome! I check your away messages all the time!" Because people would see me in other people's infos with some pithy comment and then add me as a result.
Sorry for the stroll down memory lane there.
I still clutch all my year-end awards for funniest away messages as security blankets when I go to sleep at nite.

I've been getting into twitter a bit lately.. It's like micro-blogging and at times is challenging to 'tweet' with only 140 characters available.. in that sense it can also be great as a lot of tweets are direct and to the point.
However, I do have an issue with quality of tweets. Personally I found as my followers grew, I had a responsibility to write better quality tweets. It's interesting and I'm enjoying being part of it (for now).
So who's got a twitter account?

I don't get this Twitter thing either. Are people so socially needy that they need to broadcast their every living errand, movement, or thought?
Maybe I'm just too old. But this younger generation seems so introfabulous and self-enthused. Like they need to be congratulated for accomplishing such simple tasks as breathing and fucking.

Shit, I can't remember the joke I usually make about Tweeter in terms of how I also made up the phrase.
TO THE ... damn it I'm sure it was never anthologized.
