James Bond is shit.
They're all shit. Dated, tedious, misogynistic garbage for kids who were never really into books.
There was never anything original or interesting about any of the films' scripts, acting or production, and they were all so bad that I'm afraid I was never even slightly tempted to pick up any of the books, which may have the saving grace of being well written.
Ooh - he shot the bloke, ran down the thing - what a great driver he is - ooh, he was lucky there - and cool there, killing that bad guy - and now he's going to bang that tedious 60s-type girl who is in no way his equal (they've been careful to illustrate that).
It was all dated, wearisome recidivist nonsense when it came out 50 years ago and it's never got any better.
I'd pay over a hundred dollars never to have to hear the words James Bond or ever be made aware of his tawdry existence again, the twat.- nice emo post broCygnusZero4

I mean it though, it's fucking shit, all of it. I'll enjoy the rest of this thread in silence, don't worry.mikotondria3 - I agree, miko, the very idea is stupidmonospaced
- Pft. Don't get me started on Spiderman. I mean the whole story is just unbelievable. Spiders and radiation? More like cancer man, gah.Peter

you only live twice.
volcano lair, spaceships swallowing each other. Sean Connery disguised as Japanese but only giving him bushy eyebrows, frog men fight and the hottest Japanese beauties you'll ever see. Got to be the best ever.

- Yep he does. Doubt he'll have that fun though.CygnusZero4

For Your Eyes Only was the first I saw in the theater. Still love that one, even the song too.

There's something I always wondered about Quantum of Solace. Nothing important but I was curious about it. There's a fight scene and after he sticks the knife in the guys neck, he then jams it into his knee. Why does he do that?
- Knifing a dude in the neck isnt enough?CygnusZero4
- apparently, it's the femoral artery in the thigh, not the knee.randommail
- How did he hit that first of all? And why did he even bother with it?CygnusZero4

Beer > Martini in Skyfall...
- CygnusZero40
He may still order a martini at some point. We havent seen the movie yet. They just said in 1 scene he orders a Heineken. Not a big deal. Even if he doesn't order a martini, he did in the last 2 movies so I dont think it matters much if he doesnt here. And he had a been in Quantum towards the end.
- *had a beer in quantumCygnusZero4
- It's a big move considering the James Bond brand history is all... ; )ideaist
- Eh I dont know. He had 6 martinis in Quantum. And he still may have one in this. We dont know.CygnusZero4

Bond for me is:
1. Daniel Craig
2. Roger Moore
3. Sean Connery
4. Pierce Brosnan
5. George Lazenby- Glad to see Roger Moore ranks high for you. But Lazenby over Dalton?!randommail
- roger moore was my top until craig showed up. Dalton simply ruined it for me.2002

Im not sure Dalton himself was bad, but rather he was just in some really cheesy Bond movies.
Of course Craig has the luxury of being in movies that were taken seriously by the studio and well made. All of these guys are good actors, I just think whether they made a good Bond or not hinged on the movies they were in.
- 20020
My impression of character portrayed by the actors
Moore - dandy spy not wanting to lift a finger in fights
Craig - more humanized spy with core SAS background
Brosnan - classy previliaged spy oxford educated more MI5/6
Connery - kid with a chip on his shoulder worked hard through
oxford and fought through SASDalton - imitator of class and rank
Lazenby - old school spy from the great wars / normal and blends in
- interesting, i think i agreeprophetone
- What is SAS?CyBrainX
