Hey Stimuli,
don't fight the emotion. Allow the emotion to inform your perspective.
What you resist, persists.
If you need to curl up in a ball and cry - that's FINE. Give you self five minutes. MAX. It's ok.
Absorb yourself in the routine of your life though. Regardless.
Let the depression inform your perspective. But live in the moment. Break every day down to discrete little packets of tasks to get done, and absorb yourself in it.
You ahve things to do - every second. Get up, have a shower, go to work/look for a job. Make food, go to the gym etc.etc.
Fill your life with routine. The emotion of depression will subside.
As a man, you have the capacity for rage, harness it.
Depression is another form of narcissism, take yourself outside yourself.
You are only entitled to your actions.. .not the fruit of your actions.
I'm signified through my ACTIONS, what i do, moment to moment, day to day - that is ALL that matters.
Let the emotions inform your actions, but do the necessary actions anyway.

I'm scared to turn images on ;)
Going for a walk at lunch, up the bike trail to the river. I promise I won't jump in.
I think it's just a rough patch. It's been a few tough months with moving, money worries, plus the though of living in someone's basement for the next couple of months.

It's cool, mate. I've been feeling the same way.
I think it might be the season's change. This week has gotten better, but I've been distancing myself from loved ones for seemingly no reason. Again, this week is getting better. It happens from time to time. It's good to be able to recognize it and realize it's nothing you can control. Once you realize that, it (surprisingly) becomes easier to deal with.

Hang in there. Things will turn around. I think it is sort of natural to go through these down periods, albeit tough. Moving, money, etc. are all real stresses.
*hugs

do you work out? running usually wears all of the bad mood out of me. when i'm feeling shitty in the head i run until i can't stand any more.

Get out of here and do something outdoors!

it's the damn news.

i have been feeling down too but that's because of the stock market. seeing so much volatility everyday and watching depressing news is emotionally draining.
like someone pointed out, running helps. also try to keep yourself busy. thinking too much is never good. life happens and there's only so much you can prepare.

Sounds like you could be lunar sensitive - full moon time. Plus, it's just past the autumnal equinox so the effects of the cosmos are heavy.

don't just get outdoors, but go outside and do something you never tried before. learn kung fu or a new language, ride further or down a different path. It helps when you accomplish something you didn't know or didn't think you were capable of. Running did that for me.

ive been in the same boat :(
just got out of a school and got a job in nyc, commuting every day, miss all of my friends and broke up with the girlfriend. its like everything got flipped around in the last couple of months.soo, to counteract it, ive just been hanging out with old friends, keeping as busy as possible and melting my brain with the stuff i truely love...my bike and terrible sitcoms.
god bless friends. they make everything better.
just hang in there! time takes care of everything it seems.

Go to the gym and just get into a zone. Our minds and bodies are linked more than you realize. Helping one helps the other. A really good workout can do wonders on the emotions, your outlook, your mood and more. Just go nuts and get really sweaty. When you get out, you'll feel better overall, and will be truly tired rather than mentally drained. Then eat a good meal, read a good book, and go to sleep. That's my prescription.

A problem shared is a problem halved mate face, it's good you can tell folk you are feeling rough. This may cheer you up a bit.
The last time I tried to make love, I managed to spill a cup of hot, MOTHER FUCKING hot tea all over my ass, instead of sweet sweet love I had to get cold cold pads put on my ass :'(
