Parliament has been prorogued, meaning they aren't going to do a fucking thing about the economy until the end of January, and even then the opposition can vote against whatever new half-assed plan Harper puts forward.

Oh hey, the Canadian Politics thread is back. Mods don't lock this one like you locked mine, okays?
In 2004 Harper approached the GG with a Con-Bloc coalition plan, proving he's a hypocrite and has no idea what the 'demo' part of 'democracy' means.

Ignatieff is a smart dude. it made me sick to see him getting flamed for his comments on torture a while back. I thought they were taken out of context, but that's just me, I guess.
I'd like to see Dion forced out early and have Ignatieff take the helm. Seems to me he's a straight talking no bullshit kind of guy.

But the SECOND Bob Rae gets involved I'm going to start packing my luggage...

The only good talk radio station here (as far as I know) is 580 CFRA (besides CBC radio). Some caller just said, "It's as if though three men got together and decided to gang rape a woman". The host then added, "...and they blame her because of how she's dressed."
what the...
All the conservatives are calling in (as usual) and yelling. Planning a protest near Parliament this Thursday.

dion, harper and layton should step down

Harper brought this upon himself.
The people didn't give him a majority, so he shouldn't try to rule like he has one. He shouldn't have tabled a bill that would require a constitutional change that would cut party funding. He knew what he was doing. In fact he sent Michelle Jean out of the country hoping that would stop the opposition from ceasing power.
This is an amazing moment in Canadian political history and I LOVE IT!
