What's a good way to head a letter to an unknown recipient when sending a cover letter?
"Dear Sir or Madam" sounds too 19th century formal and "Dear Hiring Agent" just sounds lame.
Gotta be a better way... right?

IN all seriousness: IF you have investigated and got nothing, then I would go with "To Whom it May Concern".

"To Whom It May Concern" is lame, shows no effort. Do whatever you can to find out the person's name. If you can't find it, address it to the person's title, "Dear Creative Director" and so forth.

Or if one of you want to give me a new job, you can just tell me your name and this whole exercise will be unnecessary!
