popfodder, take a look at all the Romney vs Obama polls. Romney is the strongest candidate there is, but he rarely wins.

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com…

Perry, Bachmann and Palin have not won in a single poll against Obama ever. And there's a decent chance one of them gets nominated.

Looks like people really don't want to vote for the Republicans, and I don't blame them.

    • Obama is obviously going to get re-elected... look at the clowns on the republican side.zarkonite

what's funny is the fact that you think all those first time, young voters and independents are going to come out and support this fucking droll.

It's fairly simple to see this guy has absolutely no leadership skills, nor does he make people feel confident about investment. He's done freakin' ZERO!~ Jobs, pshshhshs ahhahaha please don't make me fucking laugh. Get a clue dipshits.

If it was "anyone but Obama" then he would be losing in the polls.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think Obama has done a perfect job by any means. He's been too weak in not standing up to the idiot Republicans. But mainly, he got clobbered by a shit economy which may have been inevitable.

I'm simply noting that when you have a President with low 40s approval, the other party should be ahead by 10 points. Instead, Obama is beating them by 10 points. Tells you something about how pathetic the other side is.

People approve less and less of Obama, but they absolutely hate the Tea Party conservative ideas and values.

    • It's hilarious that you deem Republicans as idiots and yet take a look at the job that clown has done...!?

it's amazing to me obama is disliked by moderate conservatives. if you look at the deal he made originally with boehner and some of his executive orders and keeping the oval office with a ton of power, he's very much a 90s republican. at his best he is as liberal as clinton, but most of the time he could be seen as a moderate conservative from the pre-bush years.

only in this completely fucked up post-9/11 media orgy would obama be considered a liberal. he's hardly a democrat. if you ran a moderate republican against him there'd be hardly a difference - so thus you have the republicans all running insane nutjob candidates who pander more than they preach (which is saying quite a bit).

    • +1, Obama is totally a moderate. tho he ran on liberal pretensesBonSeff
    • I think what happens is that a republican in the center will lean right pretty hard, he'll have to pander to the extremes in his party... most of the solutions to our problems are somewhere in the center, it's just sad to see both sides refusing to balance upholding their principles with getting something done.zarkonite

^ Agree 100%, but replace Obama with "the Democratic party." If Hillary or Edwards had been elected they would have governed the same way.

Basically at some point in the past couple decades, the Democrats decided they could adopt conservative economic policies and still get elected. Appease the same corporate interests as the Republicans but try to differentiate themselves on the social issues.

All the more laughable when people refer to Obama as a socialist. What has he really done that is so left wing? Most drastic thing he has advocated for economically is to raise the upper income bracket by a few percentage points.

    • what merits or principles do democrats stand for? what is the difference between dem/reps u think

Curb Health Costs to Cut U.S. Budget Gap, NABE Survey Says

    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/20…

About half of business economists said in a private survey that U.S. fiscal policy should be more restrictive in the next two years even with the economic recovery showing signs of faltering.

Almost six of every 10 members polled by the National Association for Business Economics (http://www.nabe.com/) said U.S. lawmakers should reduce the federal budget deficit mostly through spending cuts. Forty percent of the respondents said curbing health-care costs would probably be the most successful part of any such plan.

The debate over federal spending has taken on greater urgency since Standard & Poor’s this month downgraded long-term U.S. government debt for the first time. The cut reflected the failure of Congress and President Barack Obama to craft a budget plan “necessary to stabilize the general government debt burden by the middle of the decade,” the credit-rating service said.

"Appease the same corporate interests as the Republicans..."

    - Ukit

Actually I think the Dems & Rep serve different sectors of the corporate sphere, although it overlaps of course. The Republicans clearly represent the energy, defense, agribusiness & old school Chamber of Commerce-style industries. The Dems represent Tech, entertainment/media and finance. So it's like Exxon/Lockheed Martin/Walmart/ADM vs Apple/Google/JPMorgan/Verizon/Di... or whatever. There's also a regional distribution as well, obviously. And of course all corp will throw whatever money/support to whatever party they think will momentarily support their ends.

So what jobs bills have the Republicans brought to the table in the House now that they've been there for almost two years? Bueller? Bueller? Or is their whole plan "Cut taxes to the rich and it will trickle down" - in other words nothing different than 1981. There they go again....
