so what is it like in France right now?

Former French Market Corp. director's case was kept off inspector general's plate for months
Mayor Mitch Landrieu's administration waited two months to refer to the city's inspector general allegations that former French Market Corp. director Kenneth Ferdinand had misspent as much as $20,000 in agency funds, though a deputy mayor was present when Ferdinand agreed to resign and make a donation to the agency of $5,000.

sad as i am to say it, I agree somewhat with Williams. I hate the fact that I'd get nervous if half a dozen middle eastern looking men got on a plane and sat together. I would never outwardly show any unease but deep down there is part of me that would be nervous.
And it shits me...don't like having those feelings

For me it really has nothing with being a bigot per se, it just ,meams your gullible to propaganda.
How many of the 9/11 hijackers were dressed in "muslim garb"?
Zero.
How many actual terrorists will a) actual wear identifiable garb onto an airplane and b) how many that fit the profile wearing such outfits will get through security with minimal scrutiny?
a) Zero
b) ZeroIt's all smoke and mirrors. As much as there is so much fucking useless security theater surrounding our air transport systems - take off your shoes, bark like a dog if the asshole in the TSA uniform says so, etc. - which does actually nothing to stop terrorism or where the actual terrorist threat would be coming from - the system has become more secure and secondly, their is probably a slim chance of any terrorist organization seeking to repeat a 9/11 style event in the same manner.
So congratulations, if you're spooked on an airplane because probably a family of Sikhs got on the plane and you're freaking out because they're wearing turbans - it means you've swallowed the fear mindset spoon fed to you by Fox, the rest of the US media and whatever factions of the elites that want to keep you scared and in control.
It's probably far more likely that your plane would blow up in mid air with a planted bomb through an inside man, or being shot down by an handheld anti-aircraft missile on takeoff/landing then you having to face down a group of men dressed in "obvious middle eastern garb" on your airplane.
Juan WIlliams is just another shallow thinking pundit who wouldn't know his ass from his elbow, refuses to think for himself and look at reality.
Typical modern American civilization bullshit - fear shit that has actually little way of actually harming you, yet the real shit is pushed under a carpet because someone is making huge profits from it and pushing any external costs onto the back of the hoi polloi. And god forbid you raise that issue, because you're immediately called a "socilaist!! Commie!!"
- doesn't have to be muslim garb. i'd be nervous if it was 6 swarthy looking arabs.BusterBoy
- btw, i completely agree with youBusterBoy
- I think 6 swarthy looking arabs in a group would get anal cavity searches...TheBlueOne

Think about what an incredible feat the Iraq War was.
The government announces our military needs to invade a country that has no intention of going to war with us. They provide the rationale that this country on the other side of the world COULD someday, potentially develop dangerous weapons.
After filming a propaganda piece of Saddam's statue being torn down, we announce to Iraq that we have "liberated" them. We then watch as violent anarchy sweeps across the country, eventually killing over 100,000 innocent people.
We train "Iraqi security" and let them set up a regime of torture while we look the other way. To put down some parts of the country, we bomb them with white phosphorus. Women and children burn alive.
We construct the largest U.S. embassy in the world and sign some of the largest oilfields in the world over to Western multinationals.
After a half-hearted search, the government admits the whole "weapons" thing was a big goof. Oops.
The media lets it slide. The idea that the war was about oil is considered a fringe conspiracy. The idea that Bush be held accountable is discouraged as simply unacceptable. Americans continue to talk about how they live in the greatest, freest nation in the world.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
Now we have 400,000 secret reports on the Iraq war thanks to a small group of anarchist hackers in Iceland.
Here's what most Americans will read about them:

The NYTs article about the contractors:
Use of Contractors Added to War’s Chaos in Iraq
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/2…"Contractors often shot with little discrimination — and few if any consequences — at unarmed Iraqi civilians, Iraqi security forces, American troops and even other contractors, stirring public outrage and undermining much of what the coalition forces were sent to accomplish."
"At a notoriously dangerous checkpoint on the main road to the Baghdad airport, a cement truck entered a lane reserved for Department of Defense vehicles. A guard from Global, a British company, fired a warning shot, and when a man initially identified as an Iraqi opened the door and tried to flee, guards from a tower started firing, too. The man dropped to the ground. Then members of an Iraqi private security team parked nearby also opened fire, shooting through the chest not the driver but a worker from DynCorp International, an American security company.
When the truck driver was finally questioned, he turned out to be a Filipino named José who worked with yet a third company, KBR, the American logistics and security giant.
The conclusion drawn from this chaos was, “IT IS BELIEVED THE DRIVER ENTERED THE DOD LANE BY ACCIDENT.”
For all the contractors’ bravado — Iraq was packed with beefy men with beards and flak jackets — and for all the debates about their necessity, it is clear from the documents that the contractors appeared notably ineffective at keeping themselves and the people they were paid to protect from being killed."
"There are more contractors over all than actual members of the military serving in the worsening war in Afghanistan."

9 out of 10 of the poorest US States are Republican states, yet somehow these asshats say "Trust us! We know how to run things!"
Really? And I suppose by "run" you mean siphon money to vested interests and fuck the citizens?
- all of the states on that list receive more money back from the Govt. than they pay in taxes, too.Josev

Google putting 55% of its donations to Republicans and 45% to Democrats. They know something.

He went on ESPN twice to announce his Final Four picks. He went on "The View" (drawing 6.5 million viewers). He had a "Christmas at the White House" special with Oprah Winfrey. He went on Jay Leno - becoming the first sitting President to appear on a late-night show. He was on the cover of Rolling Stone, giving a revealing interview looking back on his first 18 months in office. In December, he'll be going on the Discovery Channel's "MythBusters."
All that's left, apparently, is to be a guest voice on "The Simpsons," though I'm sure that's in the offing. Banksy will animate.
