Game-changer, anyone?:
U.S. Identifies Vast Riches of Minerals in Afghanistan
By JAMES RISEN
Published: June 13, 2010
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/1…"WASHINGTON — The United States has discovered nearly $1 trillion in untapped mineral deposits in Afghanistan, far beyond any previously known reserves and enough to fundamentally alter the Afghan economy and perhaps the Afghan war itself, according to senior American government officials."
"The previously unknown deposits — including huge veins of iron, copper, cobalt, gold and critical industrial metals like lithium — are so big and include so many minerals that are essential to modern industry that Afghanistan could eventually be transformed into one of the most important mining centers in the world, the United States officials believe."
"An internal Pentagon memo, for example, states that Afghanistan could become the “Saudi Arabia of lithium,” a key raw material in the manufacture of batteries for laptops and BlackBerrys."
"The vast scale of Afghanistan’s mineral wealth was discovered by a small team of Pentagon officials and American geologists. The Afghan government and President Hamid Karzai were recently briefed, American officials said."
This is a fascinating turn in geopolitical events. Stay tuned, folks.

A) that dude is drunk or high
or B) that wasn't the question the kid askedlocustsloth - either way, it was stupid of the congressman to act that waylocustsloth

That kid learned a valuable lesson. Don't shove cameras in people's faces without asking or letting them know who you are and expect them to be civil.
the most fundamental basics of college research.

The progression of events that we're expected to believe here just don't make sense. To anyone who doesn't already hate this guy, for whatever reason, it's clear that's something's missing.
Student1: Hi Congressman
Ethridge: How are you?
Student1: How are you?
cut
Student2: Congressman, how are you?
Ethridge: No thank you. (why would he say this if "How are you?" was the question)
Student1: Do you fully support the Obama agenda?
Ethridge: Who are you? (again, this response does not make sense in context. There's no reason on this video that this man should react this way. So we can draw one of two conclusions
A) He walked up to those students in an already agitated or altered state (drugs, alcohol, who knows)
B) The thing that agitated him was NOT on this video, whether in the form of words said that were deftly edited, or some sort of signage they were carrying (notice we never see behind the boundary of where the "student" stood).
Also suspect is that, if these were actual college students, legitimately seeking an interview, they would have said which college they were from, as that would lend them credibility and make it that much easier to talk to the congressman.
Also suspect was the fact that there was two cameras, as though they EXPECTED that the first would be taken or obscured at some point.
Regardless, Etheridge should not have grabbed the guy and should have just walked on by

"Anchor Babies"? I love the Orwellian bullshit the rightwing douchetards try to get across. Like "death tax" and "trickle down". What does anchor baby mean? An american citizen by the motehrfucking Constitution. No, but these fascist dickwads want to call them "anchor babies" and expel them from the US. They're fucking citizens moron. How about we expel your fucking fat cracker ass.
Fuck, that's it. It's time to buy ammo.
""Anchor babies" isn't a very endearing term, but in Arizona those are the words being used to tag children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants. While not new, the term is increasingly part of the local vernacular because the primary authors of the nation's toughest and most controversial immigration law are targeting these tots - the legal weights that anchor many undocumented aliens in the U.S. - for their next move.
Buoyed by recent public opinion polls suggesting they're on the right track with illegal immigration, Arizona Republicans will likely introduce legislation this fall that would deny birth certificates to children born in Arizona - and thus American citizens according to the U.S. Constitution - to parents who are not legal U.S. citizens."
- Probably Frank Lutz's work.Josev
- because that's the term used... not coined by republicans.zenmasterfoo
