Well, whatever, anyway, this is great news:

    http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/ne…

The U.S. economy expanded in the fourth quarter at the fastest pace in six years as factories cranked up assembly lines, indicating the recovery may be strong enough to be weaned from government support.

The 5.7 percent increase in gross domestic product reported by the Commerce Department in Washington today exceeded the 4.8 percent median forecast of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. Separate reports showed consumer sentiment and a barometer of business activity rose more than forecast in January.

The dollar rallied as the data signaled the momentum generated by the world’s largest economy last quarter will carry into the new year. Rising investment in equipment and software is boosting sales at companies including Intel Corp. and may help bring the jobless rate down from close to a 26-year high as employers add staff to meet demand.

“We are getting on to something that is pretty sustainable,” said Bruce Kasman, chief economist at JPMorgan Chase & Co. in New York, who correctly forecast the gain in GDP. “Both consumers and businesses are beginning to increase spending. To get validation, we need to see a return in hiring, which we think we are going to get over the next few months.”

Also it is great to see that tech is leading the way:

Intel, the world’s largest chipmaker, posted its biggest quarterly revenue in more than a year last quarter, a sign the computer industry has emerged from last year’s global recession.

“My expectation for 2010 is that we’re going to see robust unit growth,” Chief Financial Officer Stacy Smith said in an interview this month. “The consumer segments of the market will stay pretty strong, and I do believe we’re going to see a resurgence in PC client sales.”

Purchases of equipment and software increased at a 13 percent pace in the fourth quarter, the most since 2006, today’s Commerce Department report showed.

    • And the conservative trolls are fucking silent.DrBombay

    http://www.politico.com/news/sto…

Despite grim new deficit estimates, the Senate rejected efforts Tuesday to create a bipartisan commission empowered to force up-and-down votes in Congress on long-term steps to relieve the mounting debt facing the nation.

Not only Obama but also Scott Brown, the newly elected Massachusetts senator and Republican hero, had supported the commission idea, sponsored by Senate Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) and his ranking Republican, New Hampshire Sen. Judd Gregg. But old-guard elements in both parties resisted, and it was ultimately doomed because top Republicans feared it would help Democrats extricate themselves from a difficult debt-ceiling bill.

    LOL...WTF

  • ukit0

    http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-br…

Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) excoriated Republican colleagues, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Tuesday for having voted against a law to set up a commission to address the nation's long-term fiscal health.

Voinovich, a longtime deficit hawk, teed off against 23 fellow Senate Republicans who jointed with some Democrats to defeat a proposed bipartisan commission to address deficits and the national debt.

"The issue that I'm raising with Republicans is if you are not for this commission, then what are you for?" Voinovich said during a conference call with reporters. "And if the president is forced into creating an executive order and you criticize that executive order, then how are you going to explain what you want to do to deal with this problem?"

The Trauma Myth: The Truth About the Sexual Abuse of Children--and its Aftermath

    http://www.amazon.com/Trauma-Myt…
    http://www.amazon.com/review/R1W…
    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/2…

"Clancy confronts her readers with some compelling data. Child molesters have victimized approximately 45 million Americans (p. 1). Child molesters cost victims and their families $23 billion annually (p. 111)."

1 out of 6 americans have been victimized by child molesters, what the hell is going on over there?

I'll tell you what. The pedophile hysteria and fight against pedophilia has become a billion dollar industry, ie. this figure ($23 billion) is the direct income for people, who explain to the "patients" that he/she has been victimized and is now terribly traumatized.

Of course, the main reason the victims are traumatized are not the crimes of the pedophiles, but the subsequent crimes of the doctors, depression counselors, therapists and life coaches.
Which cost the victims 23 billion dollars annually.

The more harmful, destructive and immoral a certain thing is, the more money the americans will make from it. An absolute empiric rule from which man knows no exceptions.

Reminds me of a funny marketing anecdote, when after the WWII Americans came to Japan to sell antidepressant drugs, they discovered that there was no word for depression in japanese. In the japanese concepts of Godai feeling sad was seen as a moment of contemplation of life, it didn't have the negative connotations it has today.
So the whole concept needed to be invented and marketed under that new idea. Successfully, antidepressants are a growing multibillion industry in Japan, hehe.

I think that if America doesn't get nuked by some small oppressed country, and there are dozens which are investing all their money in nuclear weapons to rid the Earth of the cancerous tumor that is America, America will die from sinking in its own shit. And the sooner, the better, btw
