I don't mean to make this sound like malicious thinking or anything, but I've lately thought to myself... if Obama wins, what if we see McCain develop cancer again within the next four years, or a life threatening disease at his age? How people will talk then, if he would have won, would they have hidden it? Would they have turned over things to Palin?
I don't wish any harm upon McCain or anyone else in all honestly, just something to think about.

Reasons I think O'bama is just another politician and not the "CHANGE" that he is trying so hard to portray...
1. Biden. Seriously. I had he had to gain some experience cred, but aligning yourself with a seasoned politician really rubbed me the wrong way. It didn't seem to be cohesive with his whole message.
2. Taxes. His whole "help the middle class out" emphasis rings a bit fake when you realize he is going to let the tax cuts expire. Yeah, that will really help me out O'bama - now I see how you are going to pay for all your grand ideas.
3. The Public Financing Promise - he obviously backed down on this one and is now more loaded than McCain. Again, seems to be contrary to his image.
4. Grand Plans. Really, they don't seem so great or revolutionary, they just seem like warmed over typical Democrat ideals.
Now, I understand all of these things might be necessary political moves to ensure that he wins. It just smells like the same old crap. To me, the intriguing persona of obama is really fading away as I get a clearer picture of what obama is all about.

So JazX, are you implying that we are supposed to take an opinion article based on a book by an established conservative, featuring questionable statistics (as all stats are) with no info on margin of error, sampling size or polling numbers and some magical, sourceless "facts" as the evidence that modern conservatism doesn't equal institutionalized greed? Please. By the way, you are wrong about sates' federal spending versus federal taxes paid having nothing to do with socialism. Socialism is defined as nationalization of public interests while still maintaining some measure of capitalist freedom. Relying on money from the federal government to build roads and police stations with out making an independent, state-level monetary contribution is VERY related.
