Oh nice!
You can make a short cut to any website and place it in the quick-launch bar. Makes QBN act like it's own application - launches it, but with 0 web browser clutter.- ive always had this on opera and as an addon on firefox. glad to see its becoming a regular thing to have.October

view source in it's own tab is genius.

Just installed and it's ok, it's very fast but it does have some bad points. Some CSS is not rendered correctly (forms mostly). Also don't like the fact that you can resize box on a contact page, that will destroy the design of the page, but I guess that is down to the beta.

For a minute there I was wondering what they were going to put in Android, as they had earlier said it would be WebKit.
Now, after reading a few more pages of the comic (has anyone read it all? I doubt) I realize Chrome is a re-skinned WebKit, like Safari is.

Why did they undo the work webkit already did?
rounded corners are aliased, Safaris are smooth
box/text shadow is fucked
font rendering looks like complete ass
PNGs dont work right, switch to 1bit transparency when you apply opacity to the container

I hope themes come out for this. It is pretty ugly. Also, the yellow highlighting of form fields looks like pee poop.

It freezes a lot here
And when I close the main window I have to wait a few seconds (~15) to reopen the browser

A friend of mine pointed out some pretty dodgy sounding stuff in the Chrome EULA earlier:
"11. Content licence from you11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights that you already hold in Content that you submit, post or display on or through the Services. By submitting, posting or displaying the content, you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free and non-exclusive licence to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any Content that you submit, post or display on or through the Services. This licence is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the Services and may be revoked for certain Services as defined in the Additional Terms of those Services.
11.2 You agree that this licence includes a right for Google to make such Content available to other companies, organisations or individuals with whom Google has relationships for the provision of syndicated services and to use such Content in connection with the provision of those services.
11.3 You understand that Google, in performing the required technical steps to provide the Services to our users, may (a) transmit or distribute your Content over various public networks and in various media; and (b) make such changes to your Content as are necessary to conform and adapt that Content to the technical requirements of connecting networks, devices, services or media. You agree that this licence shall permit Google to take these actions.
11.4 You confirm and warrant to Google that you have all the rights, power and authority necessary to grant the above licence."
And you have to agree to this to download Chrome...
- FYI: guess that was an "oversight" by their legal team and they're removing those clausessublocked

When I click the 'maximise' button, to make it go full-screen, it doesnt - I mean, it jumps to the top left, but remains the same size....
very weird, and enough for me not to use it.
Try again.

Interesting read over at Wired, on the subject..
http://www.wired.com/techbiz/it/…The beefing up of Javascript, reducing of the ..er.. chrome and smart address bar concepts sound fantastic, but until they've re-jigged their EULA I'm not even going to download a version to peek at, never mind use. I'd like for it to be in the wild a little longer, so the tech guys can work out just how much of its typical functionality is tied into the Googleplex.
If they do indeed 'do no evil', I look forward to using it.
'Til then.. *dons tinfoil cap*
- Normally, I couldn't give a shit about EULAs but when it's something as widely used as a browser, you have to wonder..kalkal
- I mean, if you run a blog, every peice of information you put in there through the backend will be freely availible for google to use any way they see fitkalkal
- to use any way they see fit, for any reason... this includes email attatchements too. I wonder if this is in the EULA for gmail too...kalkal
- Gmail too...kalkal

Anyone know how to get this thing to open links in a new window by default rather than in a new tab?
