a little. not a fan of the 520–570-nm wavelength are we?
- meffid0
you've used the same font and logo on 3 designs of your work. go radio, pigeon music and CCH. why?
the design + media looks weird.
I guess the colours look "fun"?
I can't be much more constructive I'm sorry. Look at some other sites? (that were made in the last 5 years?)

"let me know what you think isn't right"
All of it! the websites you have designed are poor, and your own site looks like it has been design without any consideration, what-so-ever
- "poor"
because that isn't vague...GORADIO - Okay then terrible, devoid of form and an idea, not even been designed, just made!uncle_helv

You've taken it offline? In only saw it briefly before I closed it down again, but from what I remember, I'd take meffid's first suggestion seriously - look through there and see what you like, what works - then copy it, in your style. At your age and for the kind of project you're doing, you should be feeling fine with taking 'inspiration' from other people's work - it's how humans learn, after all.
From the little I do remember - your logo was flipping awful - I mean, like kindergarten krap - not nuRave and cool enough nor homespun and DIY to pull that effect off.
Also, I think there were flaws in your (non-gridded) layout and an over-reliance on photoshop effects.. but I could be wrong, 'cos I can't see the fucker now.
Wer, start simple.

Today I drew a chair, tomorrow the fucking table.

^ everyone starts by copying/immitating.
don't expect to try and reinvent the laws of design and not get bollocked for it.

Ok, if you want a run down ,here is what I think is wrong with your site:
1) The background looks like something form a cheep toy company.
2) The logo/header is just horrible.
3) The choice of font is so bad.
4) Lack of navigation.Listen, if you are a designer you want your clients to see that you can design right? They will pay you for your work so your web site and personal work have to be superb otherwise they will go somewhere else.
Do you like it? Is this the best you have created?
- GORADIO0
I used the same font on Go Radio and Music Pigeon, partly because I'm planning to connect them at some point. Aside from that, they're only the same in that they've both got circles. Am I allowed to use circles more than once?
I'm not trying to get defensive, I just don't understand your criticisms... maybe you can see something I don't. If you're a designer, surely you should be good at expressing yourself?
- Jnr_Madison0
rybo, is that you?
Take it on the chin, it hurts 'cause it's true.
- Hahahaha That's what I thought, same attitude!uncle_helv
- exactly!Jnr_Madison

we're all angry over worked talentless hacks. how more expressive do we need to be?
- detritus0
it's an incoherent mix of styles.
it has no aesthetically-pleasing or logical structure.
it's over-reliant on filter gimmickry to add 'pizzazz', which it lacks. If i were you, I'd take the logo-developing route of getting your site to work in just a few shades (black, white and maybe a grey or two) - focus on the structure and deploy your OWN style - fuck nuRave crappy text, fuck half-arsed rockets, fuck floral decals, fuck pixel backgrounds - each of these independently is liable to be abused and awful - all together and... well, you've peril on your hands, as evidenced by the caustic remarks above mine.
- meffid0
go spend a day with chossy, he'll at the very least swear at you profusely or you might even learn something.
- lackofcolor0
I would say.. and i mean this constructively from experience.
You don't have enough work to even have a portfolio and the work you have up isn't great. By the time you have 10 or so things that you think are really good you will probably be more experienced and have a better chance of making a portfolio that looks better. The work is more important anywho.

layout:
think about teh grid structure - why do the two equal width (and therefor equal importance btw) columns not fill the width of the header? this makes the site look broken, leaving a mad dead space on the left which you need to fill. There's a difference between negative space (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ne... used tastefully in a layout and dead space, which sits there looking ugly and bringing everyone down. Like me on the train on the monday after a bender.Either, make each column half the width of the header, or choose whether 'work' or 'blog' is of more importance and adjust the widths so one is 2/3 and the other 1/3 of the horizontal space.
It might be good to think of a different style of display for each type of content too, to better allow the brain to get an idea of what its seeing by scanning teh content, rather than relying on detailed reading. People hate detailed reading, its fucking boring.
I'll look at some more of it in a bit but I have my own work to do.
hope that helps a little.
- meffid0
I'll be the first to say doing work for a christian organisation goes a little way (not a lot, cause I fucking hate religion) in my book. I do a charity design project every year, and so should everyone else.
Very noble of you, half a clap... or fap... I forget which one.
- GORADIO0
I have more work... I only made the site in the last 24 hours... I've stuck up two random pieces of work and two random blog posts. I'm not spending time putting up work until I've sorted the design.
- It's taken you 24 hours to make that!!!uncle_helv
- give him a break helv.kelpie
- Hehehe sorry I was caught in the current of mob mentality, I had no idea he was 18, still got a lot to learn!uncle_helv

I just said "Oh my god" out loud in the office and everyone rushed over to have a look. Their responses weren't good I'm afraid. They all left my desk happy though, which is a good thing.
- you sick bastard.Jnr_Madison
- Hahaha, I guess somewhere in there I should have mentioned GORADIO's site was up on my screen at the timecreative-

yeah, 24 hours it took you.... *ahem*
also, too much sapce between More Posts and More Work

Poor goradio - designers are terrible at expressing themselves!
The colour combination seems to have had no thought behind it, I can't be more constructive than saying they just don't go together. It's the sort of green a progammer would pick, rather than a designer. Unless you were designing a site for wimbledon or something.
The wrapping of text around those thumbnails looks very bad. You can't have "designed" this, i.e. deliberately wanted them to wrap like that, did you?
The tracking and kerning of the "recent posts" and "recent work" titles is bad, i.e. it makes it harder to read the text instead of easier.
There are 5 different fonts on the page. This is bad (unless you are making a feature of using different fonts for everything, say in a typographical music video or something).
The layout doesn't seem to have a balanced grid to hold it together. See "Grid Systems in Graphic Design" by Josef Müller Brockmann for more on grids.
i like the little flowers coming out of the star.
- <listen to this mankelpie
- (although the flowers remark is all the way gay)kelpie
- 4 fonts :) I'll get rid of the "Design and Media" one. I made it, and was looking for an excuse to stick it in there.GORADIO
- but thankyou very much too, it's really helpful.GORADIO
- kelpie, did you just call me a man?vespa
- hehehehehe, I thought it'd get more of a reaction, sorry xkelpie
