Well we know we're having a boy and we both expected weeks worth of arguing about names etc but both decided on Oscar within minutes, so Oscar it is. Joanne's Chinese so his middle name is Ying Lung [Great Dragon]

How did you all cope with the sleep deprivation? Any tips on getting through with minimal sleep would be appreciated.

sleep deprivation = you get used to it.
look after your wife, she's ultimately going to be the one that suffers the most. do what you can to let her sleep for as long as often as possible.

We were really lucky with our daughter. She started sleeping all through the night at about 3 weeks old.
Our son was a very, very different. 11 months on he still wakes up 2-3 times a night.
You get used to the tiredness.

Get you wife to get some sleep during the day when the baby sleeps. Don't get tempted to get jobs around the house done, they can wait

Henry was such a bad sleeper (waking 10-12 times a night) that we got a sleep coach for him. Paid her £150, she helped us with a sleep/food/nap schedule and how to deal with his waking and within 5 days he was sleeping through the night. It was great.
