"Between 2011 and 2013, Fogle also repeatedly sent text messages to other escorts, "soliciting them to provide him with access to minors as young as 14 to 15 years," the documents said, adding that he would only make such requests after engaging in sex acts with the escorts to "insure that they were not undercover police officers.""

there's another 5 years for misuse of the word 'insure' when you mean to say 'ensure'

"In other cases, the documents said, Taylor allegedly obtained sexually explicit images taken by others outside the U.S., including videos of children around age 6, and shared them with Fogle."

    Here comes the wet blanket...

It seems like we're all enjoying the prison rape jokes around Mr. Jared, who is definitely an asshole, but let's think about what the joking acceptance of prison rape means for America's prisoners.

Prison rape shouldn't be a joke, and we shouldn't revel in it, even when it might befall someone who we think deserves it. (To think anyone 'deserves' to be raped is kind of fucked up itself, imo.) To celebrate prison rape in any context, I think, further entrenches us in an ideology that prisoners deserve to be punished in ways that are cruel, violent, and sexual.

Rape isn't justice. To decide someone 'deserves' to be raped is what a rapist must do to justify their own perverse and violent action in the first place, isn't it?

    • Jared being raped wouldn't be 'justice' to me. It's just a bi-product of the life he's created for himself. Given he's a kid-toucher I have zero empathy for himPonyBoy
    • You know they rape child molesters in prison the hardest and longest. Everyone knows that.monospaced
    • No they don't. They rape graphic designers. Molesters get stabbed to death

    • Considering they sentence some women to death by rape in some countries, yeah rape isn't justice. :/sea_sea

    • relax with the revenge rape fantasy, it's not healthy. i will say it again, sissies get raped, chomos get murdered. the other problem about your revenge rape fa

I for one have no problem 'joking' or even REVELING in the fact that a man might have one's own actions reciprocate the same hell on themselves they put others through.

Jerod went out of his way to rape underage girls... Can't say I give two fucks what happens to him...

Your PSA didn't hit home, Sarah... sorry :(

    • yeah that's a fair point. the acceptance of prison rape is still a problem for other prisoners who are not as guilty as jaredsarahfailin
    • this thread is about the kiddie toucher jared though. hope he gets turned inside out in prison.dirtydesign
    • So much for that little detail in our Bill of Rights about cruel and unusual punishment. Very American, and unamerican.CyBrainX
    • Regardless of what this guy did the fact that everyone assumes there are "extra punishments" in terms of beating, torture, rape etc once you get to prison inreanimate
    • this country is pretty messed up.reanimate
    • nobody assumes 'extra punishments'... people just assume prison to be prison... it's pretty messed up when people care more about the inmates than...PonyBoy

Jered lives in Zionsville, IN where the legal age of consent is 16.

    • Your point is...?youngdesigner
    • Just a strange law in cultures where having sex with a 17 is considered illegal everywhere else.

Sarah... not trying to fight here... just a question:

Who is saying 'Yay, prison rape!'?

I think all the jokes are directed at one specific slimy man... a dude who made millions off of being a fatass and then indulged his sick side instead of using that money to get help.

Not only did he rack-up the kiddo-porn... he went out of his way ("crossed state lines") to have sex with children.

Yes... there may be a Prison Rape issue— it's horrible for sure but I don't think anyone here condones it nor would joke about it referring to your average prisoner. I'm pretty sure most people reading this thread do not think a prisoner who's in jail for theft, drug use (or other petty crimes) should be raped nor would find humor in it.

I understand your point, Sarah... thus I'm not trying to fight... my point is that this thread isn't full of folks getting excited / joking about your average prisoner...

This is a single case about a fat prick named Jared who stuck his dick in children and hooked-up w/like-minded sick-fucks in the community. He got together w/other adults and shared his foul indulgence w/them (the head of the foundation also went down... there are more involved on top of that). This is a sick SICK fuck.

These are people who use children for their personal sex cravings... I make no apology when I speak of or joke about what they more than likely have coming to them in prison... ... Jared had cohorts, Jared went looking, Jared was on the prowl... it wasn't a one-time moment of weakness...

... if Jared gets raped... Jared gets raped. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    • Agreed. I just wanted to present the thought. The 'community' around child rape is so ghastly it makes me ill.sarahfailin

"Who is saying 'Yay, prison rape!'?" - PonyBoy

I think that is fairly clearly answered a few posts up, necessitating Sarah's response in the first place -

    • yay prison rape for that guymoldero
    • NewYorkPost is an awful paper though. Would you read this for real news or tabloid news? Sucks!bklyndroobeki
    • yes... yay for Jared... rape away (yep, I said it) but nobody is yelling 'yay' for your average offender, detritus... that was the context of my statementPonyBoy
    • we've taken a thread about child predator and turned it into a PSA for prison rape awareness—where's the awareness for the suffering of the all the raped kids?PonyBoy
    • If this thread were about your average offender then I'd see your point, det... When Bernie Madoff made the cover of the NYPost... I'm sure thePonyBoy
    • ... headline didn't reference his future jail rape. Context, people... c'mon. You are right to be aware of prison rape— just speak up for the right person, ffs.PonyBoy
    • prison... free food, free board, no work. his wife wasn't working out for him, and when he gets out, he'll still have millions.

I wonder if there have been any studies as to there being a mental health issue with people like Jared. I only know what I know and have learned enough life lessons to be very careful to judge anyone other than myself, but the mob effect and actual hate in these situations is, to me, sometimes scarier than the 'villain' in question. And I'm not a hippy pacifist or anything.

I'm not excusing these people for their actions but simply thinking that I don't know what led them there. Some men have sexual or pornography addictions which can (and do) destroy families and any children involved. Alcoholics have a sickness that for whatever reason is more socially acceptable even when it leads to the unfortunate death of others, again, children included.

With any of these people we don't know how they got to the situations they are in. Maybe something similar happened to them during their childhood which is ironic because then we would have been thinking of the poor child in that situation with no mind of what would become of them later in life.

Not at all trying to be preachy here. This type of hatred has always existed and always will, particularly for those who only care to see the surface of issues, no matter what I say. I'm not better than anyone else but I can say changing my perspective on people in life and remembering that I don't know what they've been through has actually made me a lot happier in my own life. Sometimes it's nice every now and then to relieve yourself of the burden of worrying about everyone else's issues and take care of your own. :)

PonyBoy, that's like saying when GW Bush spoke about "Saddam" and "9/11" in the same sentence he didn't intend to make subconscious connection between one and the other: lets f-ck Saddam because he was responsible for 9/11. Likewise so blatantly speaking about rape and pretending it only relates to our conversation regarding Jared in prison is a bit naive.

    • I was speaking about this thread... what a moronic time to speak up about prison rape when it's about a dude who raped 20+ kids...PonyBoy
    • ... there is an appropriate time to speak up... this is the wrong thread. Go start a thread about someone wrongfully accused and suffering...PonyBoy
    • ... pig-backing a thread about a child-rapist to try and speak up about the horrors of prison rape is just silly.PonyBoy
