Jerusalem crickets ! :( they still freak me out. In Spanish they are called "niños de la tierra" which means "children of the earth" one look at it and I literally thought it was a baby fetus in the ground!! plus the sound of my dad crushing it's big head with the shovel... freaky freaky freaky!
