I'm still rocking that too. Although, with the ps3 and bluray capabilities, I don't know.. It's kind of hard to pass up when you get that $2000 freelance job.

"Also, anyone ever use a mac mini as the center of the home entertainment system, cause I might try that out..."
yes, i have mine hooked up to my LCD. It works out pretty nice for DVDs and even music. If you dont already have a mini, i would save the money and get an AppleTV.

dont by plasma, the technology is dying because they don't last long. I have an olevia that kicks ass for HD and games

For 2cents.
I don't really spend much time in front of the tv at all, I won't bother with cable, and haven't had it in 7 years now. Just nice to have for the occasional stoned PS3 jaunt and movies with the young lady. I'd say about 2 hours a week. Unless I'm totally exhausted, then it's more for the mind numbing qualities.

I researched for a while and ended up with a 40" Samsung LCD.
- Funny, that's what I'm looking into.brains
- Yeah, the colour on the Sony and other brands just didn't look as good as the Samsung.Jnr_Madison

I just bought the newest low-end Sony 32" LCD. I love it. $699. The off brands had a worse picture, and the actual box themselves were far uglier. It was worth the extra hundo to have it look bad ass.

Samsung and Sony are awesome, but honestly I can't justify that expense for a television that I hardly even look at. Most of the time the thing is on and I am doing something else. I will tell you that ps3 through hdmi on my Vizio 37 looks fucking hoo-bangin'. I'm sure it would look better on a Bravia, but again, I just don't give a fuck.

I bought a 50" LG Plasma.
Very happy.
Apparently LCDs have some sort of blur problem with fast motion on screen.
The guy in the store I spoke to said LCD for average TV watcher and Plasma for sports, movies and gaming.
The only thing about mine is that it makes an intermediate humming noise. You can only hear it when the volume is really low though.
It's becaue it is so huge it has a bigger inbuilt fan that cools it every now and again. Not a big problem.Just be sure it is Full HD.

the new hitachi's are good. i have a sharp aquos and can recommend that also. if you get anything above 42" and sit more than 10' from the screen you will not be able to tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p, so you may be able to scrimp on that if you want to save some coin.
