So hedge, what's it like to parrot surface level pro-business talking points spoon fed to you from fox news? I mean, really, does it get deep into your soul and really let your inner being out? I mean is that the best you can do as a human being? Really? Stunning.

I knew you'd point out the news source.
- Predictable.hedge

I wonder if our founding fathers had socialism in mind when drafting those documents. What do you think, blue? Dobs?
- Socialism didn't exist yet.TheBlueOne
- what exactly is socialist about us again, I forget.mrdobolina
- The socialist theory sure did.hedge
- "Socialist theory" existed in the late 1700's?TheBlueOne
- what exactly?mrdobolina
- I mean as something clearly defined against market capitalism?TheBlueOne
- Put another checkmark in the "FAIL" box hedge for your incredible grasp of the factsTheBlueOne
- I'd ask you to define socialism but you'd probably just say "Things that are or do socialism"TheBlueOne
- hahaha
mrdobolina - THe founding fathers were rich and priveledged. Why would they want socialism? It benefits the lower echelons of societylocustsloth

if McCain died in office of old age, it would probably have a negative economic effect.

"The term 'socialism' is variously attributed to Pierre Leroux in 1834, who called socialism "the doctrine which would not give up any of the principles of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity" of the French Revolution of 1789 "

hedge's lack of education is becoming more and more apparent. he has been unable to respond to many of the points leveled against him.
- exactly then he jumps to another weak point. he sucks at the troll game.mrdobolina

"I wonder if our founding fathers had socialism in mind when drafting those documents. "
Furthermore the more fundamental principle in drafting those documents (by whit I assume you mean the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution) would be against the consolidation of power. I think many of them would be appalled at the confluence of corporate influence on political power. Others less so, say Hamilton for example.
You had a very large argument between and among the founders of what shape the political-economy would take AFTER the Constitution was drawn up and ratified. And as much as Hamilton really favored the formation of a central banking system - very capitalistic - ha was also vehemently opposed to British Free Trade and was very much in favor of protectionist policies for the US at the time.

"The history of socialism, sometimes termed 'modern socialism',[1] finds its origins in the French Revolution of 1789 and the changes brought about by the Industrial Revolution, although it has precedents in earlier movements and ideas."
The first sentence of your link, blue. I forgot that we are focusing on semantics here though. Please continue.
- "Finds it's origins" moron. The US democracy found it's origins in ancient greece.TheBlueOne
- You wanna ask Aristotle what he thought of the American revolution?TheBlueOne
- If the term "socialism" didn't exist until 1834, how did you want the founders to discuss "socialism"...TheBlueOne
- ..and considering the French Revolution came after the 1787 ratification of the US constitution...TheBlueOne
- ..I wonder how they discussed the origins of socialism in 1789...per your nice amart ass attempt to correct meTheBlueOne
- mrdobolina0
do you have ADD or something? you wander and meander in and out of points, topics and arguments like a drunk driver weaves through traffic.
- TheBlueOne0
hedge is merely parroting Fukuyama-ist neo-con talking points - you know, we're at the end of history, free market capitalism is the be all and end all of human civilization, the realm of politics is over, except for figuring out how to administer it all, both the "left" and "right" become mere points of administrational difference...it's all rather tragic in a Ancient Greek sort of way...the arrogance, hubris and pride leading to a fall the main character not only doesn't see, but can't even conceive of...it's all rather boorish as well.
- hedge0
You call it meandering dobs, I call it real life obligations. Sometimes I don't have the time to respond to every individual post. I'm on the phone here a good 65% of the time when I'm not actually trading.
- look, what the fuck is it going to take for you to drop the hedge fund shit, no one is buying it.mrdobolina
- Sorry, I'm busy flipping fries here.hedge
- Is that better?hedge
- you do know that absolutely no one buys that shit, right?mrdobolina
- or are you that deluded?mrdobolina
- Whatever. I'm just saying that I am busy sometimes. You fill in the rest of the story.hedge
