hedge is merely parroting Fukuyama-ist neo-con talking points - you know, we're at the end of history, free market capitalism is the be all and end all of human civilization, the realm of politics is over, except for figuring out how to administer it all, both the "left" and "right" become mere points of administrational difference...it's all rather tragic in a Ancient Greek sort of way...the arrogance, hubris and pride leading to a fall the main character not only doesn't see, but can't even conceive of...it's all rather boorish as well.
