Furthermore the more fundamental principle in drafting those documents (by whit I assume you mean the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution) would be against the consolidation of power. I think many of them would be appalled at the confluence of corporate influence on political power. Others less so, say Hamilton for example.
You had a very large argument between and among the founders of what shape the political-economy would take AFTER the Constitution was drawn up and ratified. And as much as Hamilton really favored the formation of a central banking system - very capitalistic - ha was also vehemently opposed to British Free Trade and was very much in favor of protectionist policies for the US at the time.
