You got your screen fixed so who cares, tons of companies follow the same practice. They make you work for it, so many people would have walked out and said "oh well" and wait for more crap to go wrong. In that case, the company wins because they didn't have to replace anything.
Point being, if you fight enough and state your case without going postal you'll get things resolved.
In this case it was an Apple product for you, but Apple aren't the only ones doing this, and your comparison to MS is weak at best.

Seriously - I know they're a bit shittier these days but what other hardware companies do you expect so much from? It's like you can't get past your brand loyalty/expectations and see things realistically, Apple are a large multinational that wants as many of your notes as possible, nothing new there.
I never understand the bleeding heart threads, let alone those by windows users that spend their days blogging about how much they hate Apple and their homosexual computers. It's just a company people, they make pretty nice, pretty expensive machines, kinda like Audi. Get one or don't, up to you.

did you pay the computer with your credit card? if so, tell them you want to dispute the charge. as you ask apple to replace the IMAC as its defect and they said no.

@ akrokdesign: thanks! that's a great idea... Although I will use it if they give me a hard time again (which it seems to be their costumer care policy lately). After fighting for literally hours on the phone and at the store they finally accept to replace the display... I will hopefully get it back tomorrow or monday. Will see. For now I will wait and write ONE MORE BAD EXPERIENCE with Apple Support on my book. Believe you me... I have tons of stories! LOL
