Apple it is NOT what it used to be before. They are getting more and more shady on their small print on Disclaimers and Sh*ts.
I found 10 annoying dead and stuck pixels on my brand new iMac so I went to the store to get it fixed. When They checked it they told me: You are NOT even CLOSE to the amount of dead pixels you have to have in order to get the computer repaired.
I know I am talking about ONLY 10 dead pixels but when you work retouching skin and you start seeing black spots (or different colors in this case) and you try to retouch them and they don't go away, then you start seeing the pixels and can't take your eyes off them.
When I told them I didn't care about the amount of pixels they say your computer have to have in order to get fixed. They told me 10 dead pixels are ACCEPTABLE for apple. I told the poor guy that have to follow the book on this that Mr. Jobs and his attorneys forgot about the fact that it can acceptable for them but IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE FOR THE CUSTOMER... ME. Well after 20 minutes of going in circles they accepted to change the display...
I have been having problems with Apple Care for quite a long time... Always having to fight to have the SH*TS fixed...Do you have any story on how APPLE IS TURNING LITTLE BY LITTLE INTO MICROSOFT???

I'm not going to read all that, but I agree.
- Llyod0
apple's advertising scheme has been a lie for a long time.

Customer service from Apple is the worst.
They are shady indeed. But they still make great products.
- vrmbr0
they're aiming for the masses now.
the next logical step is to lower the standards a little, to avoid loss of profits on support.
next year 20 dead pixels will be considered acceptable.
anyway,
in the large scheme of things, and the coming apocalypse, initiated by Luis the Spaniard and his crazy Collider, this will all look futile and meaningless.

just get a PC like everyone else. they're made in the same factory.
- vrmbr0
you can't sue an apple.
- but you can slice it and make a cake from it.forcetwelve

Soon twenty LIVE pixels will be acceptable.
Does anyone here recall that Microsoft bought a substantial share in Apple in the early to mid nineties? They were a gnat's whisker from going bust and Bil Gates bought a huge share to keep it going.
My question is, does Microsoft still OWN that big share? and as a shareholder representative does it have any influence on comapny policy I wonder?
Fuck Apple. I loved them with my wallet in the early nineties and they were good for the money.

i really don't see the problem with there being a 300 dollar charge if your machine has water damage, they have to open it up and if its knackered its knackered... they can't just say 'ok our time is free'... otherwise everyone buying a machine would be paying that 300 dollars in the first place on top of the price at the moment.
Get some insurance if you're a fool with water and electricity
- HUH?! HOW SPILLED WATER ON THE COMPUTER?! Not me!frannyc28

I asked Applecare 3 years ago what their policy on dead pixels was (before buying a 30" Cinema Display), and they said "If you aren't happy with it, we'll come and pick it up and give your money back".... which is exactly what happened in the end... I found 30" was too big, so they came and picked it up. I'm happy. not sure if anything has changed lately tho...

Just kill them, the bastards

Hmmmm well technically Microsoft does not sell computers though...they are mostly into....erm...Software....uhmm. PCs are sold by companies like, HP, Dell, Sony etc.
- ninjasavant0
How does that make them Microsoft? That just makes them have questionable customer service. If anything it makes them Dell.
- ouch. that is low man.. very low..Meeklo
- Yeah is true... but what I meant is that they are AS SHADY AS MICROSOFT ISfrannyc28
- LOL wanna see shady? This is shady: http://www.apple.com… 8gb mp3 player for 299.99 Steve is a freaking con artist.xhanubis

I've always good service from dell. maybe a couple times they sounded tired, but that's probably because they're in india, but otherwise good.

it's not like they hid this info from you or went back on a promise. it's there in the writing. read more carefully next time and know what you're buying.
- i know it sounds mean, mehacescence
- Well it is actually NOT and that what the point I brought and the reason why I had it repair after all.frannyc28
- so it's fixed. what are you complaining about again?acescence
- I guess I put it before.. I was venting because it took me 45mins on the phone and another hour at the store. I just left it.frannyc28
