I'm new at this freelance thing,do you guys find that a lot of times you are not given the time you need to implement the best ideas you have? I am finding that I have to go with the ideas I know I can produce time wise, and not my best ideas.
Am I just being a bitch? Do I just have to get used to it, or just learn to work more efficiently?

It's usually the case. It's down to you to manage the project timescales and advise your clients accordingly.
Still, it's no different to working for an agency where you definitely never have enough time.

Yeah I figured this, I guess thats why people do pro bono work. You can call that shots a little more if you aren't getting paid.

Its always like that, especially with large ad agencies. Its really up to you to manage that time effectively. I always try to know exactly what I want to do ahead of time before making a new document. Experiment on your own free time and personal projects. Once you start to do this efficiently, then it's also how you know its time to begin to raise your rate :) Create your own mental library of great ideas. Pull em out when you need em. Nice work man.

Hahaha. Thats funny. Acutally I find pro bono is far far worse. People are just as demanding even though you are not getting shit from them.
You never get the time you want/need to produce the quality of work you'd like. It is a question of client management and selection. I you have a quick turn over client and you don't want ot do that kind of work then tell them so. If the relationship doesn't work out it doesn't work out.
I for one would like to kick most of my clients in the head in regards to their deadlines.

Yeah...It's so rushed. I am happy with my work, but usually around a week after a project is done, an idea that would have been PERFECT will just smack me in the face....hehe
guess thats just the way it goes

A quick turn around far too often becomes more important then quality...

I find that when you're freelancing full time you have to pick and choose which projects you want to throw your real efforts into. Which sucks but it comes down to the reality of the whole thing.
Quick Money vs Quality Work

This is why I gave up on motion graphics. I wasn't fast enough.
