Ha. Christian nation..which christians exactly? See as I was just reading in the book above (Founding Brothers) it was a mere three years into the history of America that the Quakers stood up in Congress and demanded an end to slavery because it was most un-christian. The quakers were called religious nuts, and branded as unpatrrirotic since they refused to take up arms against the british. Then a whole bunch of Presbyterian Southerners used biblical references to justify slavery as a god-ordained institution and then Ben Franklin addressed a letter to the slave holding states saying they were using the same justifications that the muslims used to enslave christians in the Holy Land.
Two centuries later and it's practically ther exact same shit.

Thankfully not all Christians try to reinterpret the Bible to accomodate their sins.
