or maybe political policies and ideologies have religious/philosophical implications.
- if so then government is nosing in where it doesn't belongacescence
- besides abortion and gays, name some.mrdobolina
- okay, dobs:
War, Poverty, Famine, Food Shortages, Disease... globally are religious issues.PonyBoy - I can go on. :)PonyBoy
- so then why do the religious candidates cut all entitlement programs?mrdobolina
- define 'entitlement'... second... you gotta be more specific... which program(s)?PonyBoy
- harlequino0
^I think you missed my meaning, PonyBoy. Yes, religion is going nowhere anytime soon. But discussing it in the media and with voters is simply another distraction from the true problems, and the real agenda of people in power, particularly in regard to economics and social order over the globe.
- harlequino... those issues ARE IMPORTANT to people with religion... in their eyes...PonyBoy
- ... morality... HAS EVERYTHING to do with life and how we get along with each other.PonyBoy
- what may seem silly to you... are DOMINATING factors in the lives of religious people...PonyBoy
- ... thus they want a candidate that also shares their values/morals.PonyBoy
- what besides abortion and gays is a religious issue?mrdobolina
- And THAT is why those in power stay in power. Keep 'em distracted.harlequino
- refer to the note above this one, dobs... religion has been around since man... and is the reason we fight amongst each other.PonyBoy
- ... other. Look to Gaza... to Darfor etc... It's ALL religious.PonyBoy
- Yes, us religious people, we're all about things that don't matter. It's a conspiracy, really..a_iver
- Or maybe I just care about our country, it's people, the environment, and how those things affect us..a_iver
- ..us, meaning our nation and it's directiona_iver

I hope you guy's get that I for the most part... AGREE with you. :)
I hate the religious 'attempt' to fix Government etc... they're going to fail as dramatically as those who oppose them...
... if only there were a way to resolve all this crap so both sides were happy...
... I just don't see that day ever occurring (unless religion somehow just went away)... which is why I don't vote...
... which is why I should probably just shut up. :)
- You need 16oz. of Jimmy Dean's sausage. :)harlequino
- lolmadirish
- ... are you going to feed it to me?...
... I don't even know what that means. :PPonyBoy

yes. separate church and state please. so when church is 100% complete out of state, and state is still 100% shit, the finger can point in someone else's direction.
i also wish people could separate 'people of the faith' with 'anyone who believes in religion of any kind will blindly go into a polling place and vote for whomever believes in jesus the most'. that type of absolute thinking which lumps everyone into one bucket is absolutely laughable. i believe in god and go to church on sundays yet somehow, despite your rationale, i'm going to be voting for either clinton or obama. wow you say... how can that be because EVERYONE who is 'religious' in my mind must (insert stereotype here) and be completely blind to the way i feel and my opinion.
well... from the other side of the coin i'm looking at people who are equally as blind.
- no one said all religious people vote the same.mrdobolina
- I'm a person of faith who doesn't go to church, and likes to think exhibits rationale thought despite said religious beliefs.flavorful
- Then maybe you should have worded your title a bit different and quit with the blanket statements. Just an observation.k0na_an0k
- observation.k0na_an0k
- dont cry, bitch. go pray it out.mrdobolina
- Ugh.flavorful
- That's your response dobs? An insult?... and a childish one at taht. How sad.k0na_an0k
- haha, so we are saying the holier than thou kona today? Where is clown kona?mrdobolina

Funny how people think Mormonism is unacceptable...but Evangelical religion which says the end times is coming soon is perfectly fine.
Don't get me wrong, I think Mormonism is weird too although some of them are nice people.
- jevad0
Huckabee reminds me of that douchebag pussy president from 24 - not Palmer...he was awesome - the dude after him that couldn't do ANYTHING
- hahaha... the nixon look-a-like wanna-be who got down and prayed... lolz... agreed.PonyBoy
- *Pony thinks huckabee AND Romney are dopey... Pony like... ready?... OBAMA. :DPonyBoy
- Pony's got a crush...ukit
- I think I'm just hung up on Oprah... she's my work neighbor now. :) I envy her employee parking lot.PonyBoy
- BTW, I'm for Obama too. I hope he wipes the floor with Hillary.ukit
- He looks to be making headway... the primary's will be fun to watch.PonyBoy
- Yup...it's a tie in Iowa, NH, and SC (keeps fingers crossed).ukit

mrdobolina is naive enough to think that everyone with religious faith is mindless creepy blah blah etc... etc...
Simple people have to have nice neat compartments for everyone.
- ukit0
I'm still not convinced he's not Kevin Spacey acting out some kind of ironic performance art statement.
- kerus0
and im suprised this thread hasnt magically disappeared yet
- teleos0
ukit: Most evangelical Christians believe that we can't know when the "end" is coming, but that we are to live as though Christ could return at any moment.
- Randd0
which presents the greater threat to the future of mankind--religious fundamentalism, or the environment? I don't know.
- ukit0
I have no problem with that, only pointing out that all religions have weird tenants to them.
- teleos0
Rand: "Religious fundamentalism" is too broad. The fundamentals of many religions is peace and love. So far as I can see, the only religious fundamentalism doing any harm is within the militant islamic sects.
- teleos0
I would say philosophical materialism / nihilism are the greatest ideological threats to mankind. After all, it is ultimately these worldviews, either directly or indirectly, which produce mall/school/church shootings almost weekly.
- What about chemical imbalance or mental issues? man isn't perfect...PonyBoy
- ... what about the abortion clinic bombers... or the suicide muslims?PonyBoy
- ... are they all materialist nihilists?PonyBoy
- From a Christian worldview, it is ultimately sin... at the end of the day.teleos
- hahah.mrdobolina
- There have been enough abortion clinic bombers to be able to count on one hand. And there are nut cases in every group. These are the exception, not the rule.teleos
- Yeah? A lot of professed nihilists invading sovereign nations these days?Mimio
- A lot of religious organizations invading other nations these days?teleos
- Thanks for proving my point, all. :)PonyBoy
- bush did call it a crusade and said god told him to.mrdobolina
- dobs is right.PonyBoy
- That does not = a religious group.teleos
- his base is the evangelicals.mrdobolina

Mental illness causes school shootings. Not philosophical crises.
- That and a lack of attention to those who aren't 'popular'... not athletic... not smart...PonyBoy
- ... alot of school shootings occur cuz the kid is pissed about being the ugly underdog...PonyBoy
- ...kids are MEAN. I got my ass handed to me as a kid... I just couldn't find a gun anywhere. :)PonyBoy
- School shootings are also caused by emotional trauma, uncontrolled rage, and irresponsible/lazy parents.gramme
- teleos0
Nonsense. A belief that people are the product of mindless purposeless processes with no goal or destiny, is the cause of school shootings, etc... These people think they are accidents and that everyone else is. And sure, such thinking can lead to mental illness.

Religion is just an excuse...if we weren't knee-deep in Middle East politics I doubt the Muslim fundamentalists would be trying to kill us.Their crazy religion is just an enabler.
- Nah... they hate our way of life, dude... they look to the west as being very immoral...PonyBoy
- ... and the way you can see that is how they run their countries based on religion...PonyBoy
- ... whipping Women who are rape victims... because they 'put themselves in an immoral position' is a good example.PonyBoy
- Don't get me wrong they are some crazy fucks...but if there was no oil, there would be no War on Terrorukit
- Yes, if there was no oil in the Middle East, there would be no war on terror, because Arab nations would be unable to finance terrorism.jccovey
- ... finance terrorism.jccovey
- hell of a point, jcc... good perspective.PonyBoy
- mrdobolina0
And again, I did not say all religious people who vote, I said religious voters and what I meant were people who vote for the guy who shares their religion. so fuck off.
- k0na_an0k0
So we're all supposed to forget your opinions about religion and religious people from the other hundred (thousand) religious threads you've taken part in since 2002?
- I have no problem with religious people, me and ponyboy are pals, so again fuck off.mrdobolina
- haha, good point...gramme
- Whatever helps you sleep at night.k0na_an0k
- haha, get back to work before you get canned again.mrdobolina
- It's the holidays and this is a consulting company. Half the company is already gone.k0na_an0k
