Dobs...you too are speaking dogma, albeit from a different breed of dog. It seems sometimes that the people who enrage you the most are people who believe in something that doesn't fit with your own worldview. Would you disagree?
- What is my worldview Gramme?mrdobolina
- I'm not completely sure dobs, from what I remember you seem to be more or less atheistic.gramme
- Many of the philosophical statements you've made here sound to me like Secular Humanism.gramme
- sure, but lack of religion hardly defines a worldview. just as being religious doesn't.mrdobolina
- reason, ethics and justice instead of the supernatural, where do I sign up?mrdobolina
- people base their reasoning, ethics and morals... off of the 'supernatural' though. ;) whatAreYaGonnaDo?PonyBoy
- call them crackpots?mrdobolina
- Your first priority = your god. It really is that simple. Sure there may be other gods along with that...but if you think about what makes you tick, that is your Alpha & Omega.gramme
- ...what makes you tick, that is your Alpha & Omega.gramme

"I have no problem with religious people" - Except the "Religious Voters" you started the thread about. Now we're just going around in circles. It's been fun. Carry on.
- People that will vote for someone because they belong to the same religion, dipshit.mrdobolina
- Same as voting for someone because they are black or a woman, not because they are qualified.mrdobolina
- Kind of like the people who vote a party-line because of the political party they believe in?k0na_an0k
- So now you're insinuating I'm votig for Obama cause he's black or Hillary because she's a woman?k0na_an0k
- WAIT... HILLARY IS A WOMAN!?!k0na_an0k
- who does that?mrdobolina
- Just go back to work, you don't get it.mrdobolina
- "who does that?" does what? votes for someone cause they're black or a woman?k0na_an0k
- i don't know... you tell me... you said it, not me.k0na_an0k
- it should be obvious now who really doesn't get it in this window.k0na_an0k
- black who vote for people because they are black etc. dumbass.mrdobolina
- ah, then i was talking about democrats who vote for democrats because they are democrats. dumbass.k0na_an0k
- who's a democrat?mrdobolina
- mrdobolina = slooooowkahn

has anybody watched a documentary "Jesus Camp"
it shows a lot of really fucked up stuff in the States. In religious and political point of view. not saying religious and politics can't mix. Just saying whats was shown is really wrong.

Every voter is a religious voter. Most people just aren't aware that they worship and place faith in something. I've never met a human being who is capable of NOT worshipping. Whatever matters most to you, whatever you can't do without...that is your god(s).
Many Americans will vote for the candidate with the strongest economic reform plan. This is certainly a worthy cause and a good thing to vote for, but the fact that many voters care more about the economy than any other agenda confirms what many have said is the strongest American vice: the Almighty Dollar.
Abortion and gay rights are not the only moral issues. It's all moral. I for example am very much for legislation that protects the environment, because I have a holistic pro-life stance that goes beyond the abortion issue.
I don't think some things will change in my lifetime, but that sure as hell won't stop me from voting based on principle.
- I disagree. This is more philosophical than realistic.mrdobolina
- then we must agree to disagree once more. I see this played out in very real life, every day.gramme
- I'd like to see you survive without money...mrdobolina
- I'm not suggesting that, clean out your ears. We all have to earn a dollar. I am remarking about the worship of money, possibly the most common vice in this country.gramme
- ...possibly the most common vice in this country.gramme
- talking about priorities. That's all. Not saying we should live without cash.gramme
- cleans out ears.mrdobolina

" I for example am very much for legislation that protects the environment, because I have a holistic pro-life stance that goes beyond the abortion issue."
Amen to that!
- how is this pro-life? I mean I agree with the premise but equating it to abortion is kinda bullshit, no?mrdobolina
- I am in favor of the respect for ALL life: human and non-human, animate and inanimate. How is that bullshit?gramme
- What about your stance on the death penalty?mrdobolina
- Death penalty is a bit of a gray issue for me. The short argument for: human life is sacred. Capital crime gets capital punishment.gramme
- ...capital punishment. The argument against: our justice system is fallible, and sometimes innocent people are killed.gramme
- ...killed. I see both sides.gramme
- but all life is precious, I thought?mrdobolina
- Yes. Again, I can see arguments for both and am not prepared to make declarative statements either way. Since the Bible isn't dogmatic about this issue per se, neither am I.gramme
- ...the Bible isn't dogmatic about this issue per se, neither am I.gramme
- I value free thought.mrdobolina
- I value freedom through Christ. Without it I'm a slave to the world.gramme

//It's all a big nothing... vote for the guy who's tougher on Iran!
- kahn0
The only thing I have learned in this topic is that this guy mrdobolina is one closed minded individual.
- Hi KonaMimio
- KAAAAHHHHHN!!!!PonyBoy

- mrdobolina0
Pleased to meet you.
- mrdobolina0

- what was prejudiced, Jazx?mrdobolina
- kahn0
Isn't there more to worry about than religious voters in America, gays and abortions? How about that there are nuts running countries that will literally behead a woman for speaking? How about leaders who think the Holocaust never existed? Just because you don't live in any of those countries I just mentioned doesn't mean you can't help and spend your real energy on Darfur or Iran. Your energy is misplaced.
- Do you think that is why the US would bomb Iran? To save innocent women?mrdobolina
- That was a terrible question that has nothing to do with what I just said.kahn
- Those counties are Theocracies. So they're included in this discussion in some respect.Mimio
- I thought the topic was religious voters. You changed the subject all willy nilly.mrdobolina
- Those countries are all about "Religious voters" so no. Sorry. I didn't change the subject.kahn
- what is your beef exactly?mrdobolina
- That you're closed-minded. Remember?kahn
- open your mind to the fundies dobs, im sure they'll return the favorBonSeff
- please elaborate.mrdobolina
- kahn0
I agree Mimio. Those countries do belong in this discussion. Those countries should in-fact BE the discussion.
- harlequino0
Holy shit, so it was Huckabee who made that call to Jimmy Dean Sausage!
- BattleAxe0
Last I checked at least Iran is a Republic at least ... yet the Saudi Monarch is just as tough on women, and we reward them with lots of new weapons and what not ... you cant pick and choose ,
but hey live and let live, I mean there is a huge outcry in the country (u.s) against Bush , there are lots of things that repress people here too, should we let Russia or China invade us to help us out ?
- TheBlueOne0
Sorry, not going to read this whole thread, just want to point out I just finished reading this book:
http://www.amazon.com/Founding-B…
Great book, and all the shit we're arguing about now wasn't resolved back then either, and was argued and politicked with just as much venom and muckraking as now. Kona & Dobs - two great americans!
- Llyod0
I believe in God but I don't believe those who quote him.
- Corollary; I have no problem with God, it's what people do with him that bugs me.TheBlueOne
- I would agree with you, TheBlueOne, though we might disagree on how to define the wrong ways of using God's word.gramme
- ...word.gramme

Check out Christopher Hitchens' commentary of Thomas Paine's "The Rights of Man." Really interesting.
