Can anyone one link me to the new mac "give up on vista" ad. Thanks
- jamble0
I think some mactard posted it on digg the other day, it'll probably be in the apple section there.

lol, macs are still around?

I use a Mac and I think the ads are really lame. Especially the one above.
- czawada0
Why are they lame?
- Pixter0
Because it assumes that macs are perfect I think
Which, is untrue

they are more reliable than pc's though.
a pc buddy of mine just switched and he is still in awe,
and this dude was hardcode windows...

They just make fun of a competitor, nothing new really. I just think they are very good at it

Its kind of Pepsi saying that Coke will make you fat
sounds pretty true until you realize that both are crap

I dunno, I'd probably have switched if it weren't for the 3D Studio not running on a mac (or Autocad).
Dell sent me a replacement computer with Vista (the machine it replaced was XP, which is what I would have ordered).
So far, I hate it. Its slow (even with Aero turned off).
I think computers are getting worse.

I think Apple should have stopped that technique after the first few times they used it, because, to me, it's getting old. Maybe it's effective for some people though. I can't speak for everyone.
I like Macs more than I like PCs, but each one has its good side and its bad. It all depends.

I think this is an example of excellent ad placement. It's not always about how pretty the ad looks or the latest visual trend it utilizes. Apple obviously uses very experienced and knowledgeable media buyers.

a good read:

i agree with what my friend said:
I wish that Apple does not have to attack anybody...
I personally feel that it degrades their brand.

It reminds me of the attack ads done by politicians nowadays. Do people love these types of ads (the media has changed over the years...is it towards using shock tactics?), or do people hate them? Does it have any correlation to the voter numbers being down? Who knows.
I imagine there are people who are turned off by these Apple ads, but many love them (as revealed in this thread).
- I think it's more about keeping the 'us versus them' attitude alive, than winning new customers. Same with attack ads.monNom

I dont generally like ads where they actually name a competitors product, I just find it awkward. Having said that if you are going to do it at least use John Cleese.
- instrmntl0
to be fair i should put his entire post:
I wish that Apple does not have to attack anybody...
I personally feel that it degrades their brand. But maybe they have to do it this way to attract PC users?? ;)
Still love their beautiful products.
Still love them for their logo having a bite.

clever and but unethical.

I like Macs, but I don't like the attacks. Stop the violence

I predict a Mac backlash in the near future.
