Agree to disagree edd-e on that definiton. For me a t-shirt design is a t-shirt design regardless of the make of shirt. You dont have to design the paper to be a poster deigner? but my comments werent aimed at you.
gradiate
(Oct 11 07, 07:53)ok..you did not design ther bag, the art was sent out to the makers who their hard work you are takingfull credit for, thus now in your eyes you are them and everything and everyone all at once..??
is that what you are saying??
not that any of your comments are aimed at anyone, i am directly asking you how you deem this possible??
a t-shirt has more than the graphic printed on it, there is a huge process in making the fabrication. but that is all on you huh??
you do that too? you go to the factories and sew it up?? you draw the paper patterns and cut them out and design something new??
or you just make the art?? i dont see your logic buti see you taking credit for other people's hard work.
its funny to see the people here who originally aid not to step up to any level, but you see them making jokes and tryingto lighten something that is really not a light topic.
but what evers!!!
here click this link!!!!

Hey I started this thread last friday, perhaps 'cause I didn't feel it was worthy of the NTB and yet another Blanka comission and 'cause it was friday and I was perhaps a bit bored!, but I still think it is a pretty pointless and weak answer to such a burning issue, especially as these bags are also gonna have an exhibition??(that's right bags on display, wow) which also needs a catalogue (that's right bags on pages in book!) give me a break, this seems a tad complex operation for such a simple message.
Cynical a bit yes, because this thought or attitude change we are suppose to be having comes neatly wrapped and packaged by Blanka.

e-pill...so your problem with gradiate is that he didn't specify that he didn't design the bag itself? If I had designed the graphic for the bag...I would have said that I was 'one of the bag designers' too. I really don't see where you guys are getting your panties in a bunch. Seems like such a trivial thing.
I didn't make the mistake, or assumption really - that gradiate was saying he designed the actual bag. He mentioned being one of the designers of the bag, and then I think his next post talked about his design for the bag...seeing as there is only one type of bag, and he talked about his idea for the graphic...it's pretty obvious he never meant for you guys to think he manufactured the thing.
I hope you let people who call themselves car designers know your disgust when you realize they didn't design the radiator cap, maybe they should call themselves aerodynamic sheet metal stylists? It would, be more correct yes? Maybe since, obviously, some of the people on NT might not be able to read between the lines...and all.
- edd-e0
yes tommy!! 100% correct!! now what can i help you with?

Wow.. this is insane. Everybody in this thread seems to be happy doing boring corporate production work. I bet if a gallery called you and asked you to contribute to an art show you'd tell them where to go! I'm with everybody here... Lets fight consumerism and capitalism by doing design work strictly for paying corporate entities.
- Point50
once again, hearts worn on sleeves in NT will eventually be slapped into the dirt.
I haven't even seen the bag and no I probably won't.

No one has really stood up and condemded this as anything other than a bit of pointless awareness campaign, as if this was a serious push to make the simple carrier bag a thing of the past and make us all use something that A. carried all our shopping (without breaking) and B. looked pretty good whilst doing it, then WHY are these bags limited editions of 250 - awareness pah!! money is the driver of this oh and the koudos and of course the press coverage!
- Rand0
where the fuck is it?
- Rand0
ah, there it is, among the ads. I have nothing against them, but am pretty tired of designer fetish items
- mimeartist0
I'm amazed that all the bag designers came up with exactly the same style bag!
get a grip!

Get off your cycnical horses and stop ripping stuff for the sake of it, because it makes you smirk behind your blinking screens.
gradiate
(Oct 10 07, 05:11)gradiate has a point. And that is how many people here just rip on things for the sake of doing it and seeing who can come up with a wittier comment.
However, I've never really liked Blanka because their products are like those art pieces you see on the wall at the museum that are actually just paintings of dots or splatters, or anything. While I do understand that it's subjective or "well...you could've done the piece of art but you didn't" arguments, I still find their stuff to leave a bad taste in my mouth.
No offense to Build.

(Oct 11 07, 13:44)Well, that pretty much covers it ;)

(Oct 11 07, 13:44)Haha well that was just my point! and it's hard to see it as any more than that!

I take it you've bought a couple James
