Is it me or is Blanka preying on the stereotypical obsessive nature of the designer? is this gonna be some sort of weird design geeky street code...
Geek A:
"Hey look they've got the NB:Studio bag"Geek B:
"I prefer my Multistorey one though, and at £15 this design self gratification, holds just one fifth of my groceries, I'll need six to deal with my big shop"Blanka: "cher-ching"

moth:
I prefer the plastic ones.
Much better for killing sea life and suffocating small children.

On a serious note (and being one of the bag designers) i think its about changing habits and thats something we all need to engage with.
- kelpie0
changing what habits, and why?
(not being narky, just don't get you}

For my bag each time you use it instead of a carrier bag you colour a tree in recording the number of bags saved. When all 320 are coloured in wash the bag and start again. Its about us marking down our consumption, those small steps we can all make to change things. In this case removing the excessive consumption of plastics when we can re-use what we have already.

thats note even a tote...its flat and that "x-stitch" where the straps connects to the pouch looks so weak in physical construction that i imagine that with the lack of a gusset you can only put a comicbook, but if it was an over sized one would rip out that "x-stitch" rather easily. if the fabrication was made of a stronger fabrication such as a canvas perhaps this would have shown better, but the screening process on nylon shows for better graphics...so it seems they have chosen fashion over function.
thats a give-a-way not even worth anything considdering its just 1 piece of fabric with a graphic on it...
but hey im sure they have they customers who seems to like its nature, but its functionality seems to be lost as i cant see what its used for or what it can be holding other than my mail or my receipts.
- edd-e0
you say bag designers...are you designing the tote or just the graphic?? they all are the sme bag, the same construction, who is the designer?
the graphics are nice, but i dont see anything of a bag designer in there...
correct me if i am wrong...
- gradiate0
OK i designed the graphic. The bag was already designed. Good hair splitting.

As for the bag construction you are obvioulsy an expert but the bag i have constructed the same way takes my shopping fine and has for over a year.
- edd-e0
well then, good luck with your graphics!!

I think there should be a Tea-Bag, bag.

It's capitalism under the guise of aesthetics and progressive encironmental concern.
Which is really an order worse than plastic bags as far as I'm concerned. At least plastic bags don't try to lie to me or pretend to be "more than" part of the money-machine.
I'll take honesty over faux ideals.

They may as well just print bags, tees and badges with something like "In case you hadn't realised, I'm a graphic designer"
- mimeartist0
